Default bottom ball joint

Right attempted my engine and driveshaft change today. Got to the stage where the engine is ready to come out, apart from the drive shafts still being attached. Un-done everything but i can't for the life of me the get bottom joint out the hub! I've been going at it with two hammers and fucking great crowbar for about half an hour with no joy. I've soaked it in wd40 so leaving it for a few minutes for that to do its job. But is there any specific/proven way of getting off just out of curiosity, just to make my life easier!???? cheers
