the more you tinker with a car from standard the more will go wrong! I learn that a long time ago but it hasnt stopped me yet! it prob does need to know what full and empty are but im not the one to ask, speak to adz and he might be able to help you out there!
or raunchz, andy_k etc as they know loads!
you may well have emptied loads of fuel from the leak, £30 is 3/4 of a tank -milage -leak = £10 left... it is possable!

i may well do that.
will see though.
i dont really think i could have lost £20 worth of fuel though!
there was a fair amount still in the old pump when i removed it and not there was a bit of a puddle of petrol under the seat, but £20's worth? had only done something like 17miles since i put £20 in.
also the weird thing is that when the car is stopped on a downward hill, normally the guage goes up, but now it goes down! and when parked on a upwards hill, it should go down, but it actually goes up!
i also swear that if im hard accelerating the thing actually physically moves infront of my eyesand then goes back up a bit afterwards.
will see how much fuel i "use" compared to miles tomorrow.
who knows

you havent put it in backwards? only way I can thing it would read in reverse like that, as for only 17 miles sounds like something isnt right I thought you were gonna say you had done 100 odd... Not the best person to ask on this one unfortunately

dont think so, 99% sure i put it in the exact way i took it out. dont know if its got anything to do with the block on the end of it.
but actually i think it may be behaving itself now anyway. seems to go up and down when on a hill the right way now.
we'll see though!

nah, im phasing the white out. Dont know what to do about the surround as i want something that will reflect the light well. Dont think Posi would do that.
The door handle trims are only temp anyway lol.
as said above, think the fuel pump is behaving itself, but we will see
got bigger problems to worry about now, something wrong with the exhaust system, its blowing like crazy all of a sudden and i think my shocks are fucked, something suspension wise anyway
as for dials, i wouldnt say hard, but more time consuming, as long as your patient with it its not too bad. also helps to havea half decent soldering iron
lol that mileage is all too close to the actual mileage

thats a good idea, im gonna have to have a good read through the thread to see how you wired up the mk2 dials in the first place, doing the leds is just a matter of using a soldering iron to get the old ones out then solder the new ones in im guessing?

yeah pretty much, you need a steady hand, but its fairly straight forward as long as you remember which way they came out (or just solder the new ones in straight after)
the Mk2 dial conversion isnt that bad either, just need to make sure you get the right size blade connectors and a Mk2 fuel Pump.

yea i just did a search on the subject and it bought up a few of your old threads and i followed a link you put on one of them was very helpful a lot of people say its too much hassle but as far as i see all you need are the plugs on the back of the mk2 dials with a good few inches of cable then strip the end of the wires, crimp on spade connectors then follow the guide and plug them in to the corresponding place as it says on the guide, looks simple enough even a like me could do it lol

it really isnt that much hassle, the only bad bit (once fuel guage is sorted) is the mileages not matching, but i got a set of dials that were VERY close to my actualy mileage.
here are the ones you'll need:
i expect you want red, but i got the link for blue aswell
Red SMD LED's
Blue SMD LED's

Now i dont need my car for work anymore, i can actually spend some money on it
Need to get the major issues sorted with it first, i also suspect the gearbox from the badger thats on the westy is on its way out as well
but anyway, been keeping an eye on this one as its the amp i want for my sub. They are about £140 new, and i got this one in great condition for £80 posted
copyright Caraudiosecurity
Now just need to my Sub and ill be away, or ill be away once i can drag lippy away for an afternoon to get it wired in
As for the more future, im STILL waiting on my new Headunit, starting to think i been diddled.
After the big problems are fixed, this is my To-Do-List
- Get VTS alloys powdercoated
- Paint 307 HDI Calipers
- Get 307 HDI calipers Re-built
- Buy 283mm Discs and suitable Pads
- Buy Braided Lines
- Buy Coilovers
- Buy Refurbed Rear Beam
That list is spanding over the next few months i hope, but we shall see!
hopefully some exciting stuff on its way!
