To be fair, when I had my saxo I was pulled over quite regularly compared to any other car I've ever owned (except a chaved up E30). I used to see it as extra security for my car!!! I knew that if my car was stolen then going by law of averages it should get found pretty quickly.
Usually your attitude to the police dictates how they treat you. Be a cnut and they'll be cnuts right back. Be polite and give them 5 minutes and they'll be sound!!!
At the end of the day if you'd had your car stolen you'd want to know they were doing something about it. That's just what they are doing.

Summers always a more active time for stops - theres always a summer drink drive campaign with the later nights and warmer weather so pretty much anyone could get pulled over after 10-11pm ish. And to be fair the older generations are worse for drink driving than younger drivers, mainly because it was acceptible all those years ago when they passed their tests, same goes with seatbelts, its the older generations that are worse for not wearing them.

We dont need any reason atall to pull someone over.

At the end of the day yes you may know that you're MOT'd taxed and insured, information that is all easily available before stopping the car via the PNC checks.

however

How do we know that the person driving that vehicle actually has a driving licence or is insured to drive that vehicle?

Its not uncommon for people to 'borrow' mates, or families cars with or without them knowing.

Many people are under the impression that from being fully comp you're insured to drive any other vehicle 3rd party which also isnt the case, generally insurance companies wont give that priviledge now unless you're either over 25, or have specifically requested it on their insurance.

Ive been pulled over about 5 times in a year. If your nice to them they will be nice to you.

But its annoying when they are driving behind you though because they always drive right at your bumper.

Probably trying to take a "accurate" speed check on you via thier speedo

Owned 2 Saxo's and over the course of about a year i've been pulled over around 4 times. 2 Being justified 2 being completely pointless. Was driving home around 10pm and came up off a roundabout completely normal, Audi RS4 Estate marked police car coming the other way, thought nothing of it, 5 minutes later about 2 miles down the road a pair of headlights comes flying up behind me atleast 90mph, sits off my bumper then turns on the blue lights. Claimed i'd been booting it all the way home at about 60-70mph when i'd been doing 45mph in a 40 limit. Tryed to explain that he hasn't even been behind me till the previous 30 seconds and he just started kicking off, didn't even give me a chance to explain my side of the story, threatened me with a section 59 then eventually went on his way.

Don't get me wrong but surley for a marked police car to be doing 90mph+ in a 40 limit for atleast a mile before coming up behind me without his blue lights on is slightly illegal?

Feel free to prove me wrong but I'm sure they are allowed to speed if safe to do so if they are catching up with someone that they suspect are doing something illegal.

I would've thought they would atleast need to have the blue nights turned on though otherwise they are just like any other speeder, hit a pedestrian and they don't have a leg to stand on?
