Meeh, its all fun.

Patience is beginning to wear thin with it like, but I'll never give up!
Aslong as it keeps me busy until june when I get another Saxo I'll be chuffed.
This can stay in the garage as I plan on reshelling it again at a later date, and use as a weekend toy.

Fingers crossed though, it'll be running ok again tomorrow. Recieved a new top inlet manifold from Sam_16v today as mine has broken. That may sort the poor running out, along with the exhaust

Suppose there is something to remember with things like this though..

Double check everything, never rely on someone else to tell you somethings ok!
I'll learn to go over things once they've been done by someone else, and myself.

Gearbox didnt sound bad, so luckily I think I may have gotten off quite lucky.

Haha I know yeah, everyones just telling me to get another car. But I'm not a homo like that. Want to have atleast 1 good day out of it!
Yeah man, nice one for the Inlet. Should prevent any air leaks anyway, which Im certain there is!

When I went out this morning, there was still some dripping out. So was quite lucky considering.

It's Rob. Edit- Damn emotions

My red driveshafts are in now, look like compbrake items ahahaha. New lower braced arrived the other day then i need the bushes swaping to my camber adjustable arms and the beam coating in red.

Have you not thought about a lower brace? They make a massive differance along with powerflex bushes and camber adjustable lower arms. It really does.

Mmmm Red.

I've got one sat in the garage. I took it off too repaint it, about 8 months ago. But keep forgetting to do it. Need to get it back on ideally, made a hell of a difference when it was on.

They don't need paint, mine was constantly on the floor anyway, if you want it red you can have it coated with my beam if you like.

I was going to/will be doing it Flourescent Yellow, along with some other bits I've been collecting. New colour scheme y0. Well thats the plan anyway, when we get a dry/warm couple of days I'm going to rattle can the car Matte black.

New 4 stud wheels are Anthracite, and will be getting some Flourescent yellow treatment to the Insides.

Well, end of an era people

Car went bang a few days ago.
Engine was running like an absolute dog, I had pretty much given up on the car at this point anyway..Too much money and time wasted overall- (Sort of contradicted my self by the above posts saying i'd never give up, meeh..what you gonna do about it). T'was an experience though to say the least, and I had fun on the odd occasion.
Car is being broken for usable parts and then the rest scrapped.

The engine went bang after I knew it was pretty much dead, Pissing oil from the Cam ladders and head. I have a steady supply of Avgas, used in appropriately tuned race engines and aviation. Armed with a few gallons of that in the tank.. I took the car for a blast seeing how long it would last. Lasted about 10-15minutes up and down the nearby dual carriage way before it went pop at *ahem* speeds.

Suspecting some burnt/dropped valves or a hole in a couple of pistons. As its now/was running on 2 cylinders afterwards. With an alarming amount of smoke coming from the Inlet. and every crevis on the engine.

I'll be back with another Saxo at somepoint though..
Not sure when, Next car i'm not sure what I want..taking a break from saxo's if I can.
But will get another when I can justify having 2 cars.
As for the engine, I'm stripping it and selling parts that people want.. But with whats left. I'm going to build over a lengthy period of time a Decent spec engine - Possibly bodies or boost. Ready to be dropped into another saxo

The end.
