New MK2 VTS
After the sad sad passing of my MK1 1.1/16v, I was on the lookout for a new car. Looked at all sorts ranging from Suzuki Vitara's to Lexus IS200's
Then, somehow ended up with this.. MK2 VTS, Crossover iirc. Single plug engine with Mk2 shit.
Needs some loving, but its a decent base.
Plans are just to generally tidy it up and make it look reasonable.
Needs a new wing, as the offside has some damage to it..but I have one here ready to go on. I'm just to much of a bitch to change it while its freezing.
Lowering it slightly, 40mm no more. VTS wheels will be staying, not the ones on the car..but some others I have bought.
May look into GTI leathers or something in a few months if I'm still fond of the car.
The car itself, is decent. Full dealership service history up until 6months ago.
Found out its got a Sports cat of some form on..Its about the size of a fist. Will be removed anyway in the way of my OMP system from my last car.
Has Drilled and grooved Discs but on Pagid RS pads..Which is pretty cool. Will be changing the discs for regular vented ones as Drilled and grooved are a bit to homosexual for me.
Tyres on the wheels are Toyo PX4's, but they're fubar'd so yesterday I ordered a set of 195/45/15 T1R's to replace them when I get my new wheels.

It needs a wash!
Whats the mileage like? At least it got plenty of service history, thats the main part. It will look nice with some standard silver S wheels on it, not a fan of the white ones.

Another black Mk2 VTS
Mine is down 40mm and looks about right, any lower and I would struggle to get a jack under the skirts.

Iye, Excuse the dirty pictures. I took those the other day,It's been caked in Salt from the roads.. but have since cleaned it
Gave it a quick clean yesterday and the paintwork is actually rather decent. No swirls, or minimal swirls/marks from what I can see. Was pretty suprised at that tbh.
Mileage is just under 90k..on the slightly high side, but all seems well
I originally was on the Lookout for a Mk1..only saw a couple of ones I liked. One was a Ventitan Red VTR or speedline's, the other was a White Mk1. But both were at opposite ends of the country and ideally I needed a car there and then. This one was only 20miles away or so.
-Gonna be changing a few things over the next few weeks when I get chance.
Mainly just Droplinks, Driveshafts, Balljoints, along with new Bushes where possible.
None of the above are damaged from what I can tell, but It'll be nice to replace it all knowing they shouldnt fail any time soon.

Iye, just couldn't keep away from them!
I was always going to get another one, I just didnt plan on getting one so soon Lol
Was going to get one as a second car later in the year..But oh well
Yeah Cleaned it again today..Need to change the Drivers side wing as thats got a scrape/dent on it..then it should be half decent.
Want to get it Detailed/cleaned up properly at somepoint..I've no idea on the Detailing/polishing side of things so I'm just going to pay someone to do it.
I'd forgotten what normal paint work felt like, after having my last one in Chalkboard paint Lol.
I'm still suprised at how quick it is to be honest. I thought my last one was quick..even running as bad as it did. But this is just perfect. Still not used to power steering though..last thing I drove for a period of time with PAS was my mums Discovery. It still catches me out at times.

Haha.
I've got a couple of mates that are keen on Detailing etc so I'll let them do it for some beer money or something.
Gave it a blast with a garage jet wash, Shiny..for the time being.
Also..
Honestly, no idea why..But I've bought these.
I've got an idea in my head of what i'd 'like' the car to look like with these on, whether it will happen I don't no..but these were a bargain anyway so I guess its useful to have a spare set if all else fails.

I know yeah!
I was actually amazed when I went to collect it.
I can't remember the last time I've seen one at standard hieght and unmolested.
Also, was flicking through the history earlier and reciepts for shit, to find its been to 'The ring'..Which would make the sticker on the bootlid appropriate for once.
A Happy/worrying one also, reciept for a gearbox and differential overhaul.
Now, I'm pretty certain that when the cars jacked up and both front wheels off the ground, if i turn one wheel, the opposing wheel will turn the other way wont it? Mine both turn in the same direction.
So, whats the crack? Fubar'd diff or a different one?
I'm not really up for splitting the gearbox to find out.. but its not making any funny noises at all.. All seems well?

I've been tempted to put it on, but I'm doing some motorway driving at the minute so I like it not screaming its tits off at 60mph haha.
Plus, knowing my luck.. I'll go to put it on, and break something in the process.

Collected my wheels today
Picture makes them seem a different shade of green than what they are.. They're more glossier and flourescent than what it shows.
New tyres arrived earlier in the week also, so Will make up my mind on whether to keep these this colour or get them powdercoated before I put the tyres on.
