It's the slowest car I've had for a fair bit lol. But on the daily run it probably would be quick enough but a bit more power never hurts! :-)

The block in it just now is an alloy block already though. The iron block was the gti in ax's.

personally I'd be dropping in a 1293 Rallye lump 100 bhp and lighter than the lump in there which would be Iron block afaik.
only ax,s with cast iron blocks were the GTI and the later diesls 1500c
all others are alloy block
1294cc --engines i have an irish cutomer looking for them or cranks.
the irish 1400cc class is actually 1450cc --so you can use 1294cc crank + kit car rods+ wossner pistons(1428cc) + small mod to block in a 1.6 16v engine and make a 190bhp screamer--

soory to repeat wht you said --i was typing when you posted

Great choice of car. Handle as good as the 106/saxo's and much lighter from standard. i believe Tam had his down to 600kg odd with a full supercharger kit on a VTS so still plenty of weight to come out of them.

Be careful about fitting discs on the back though else you make it very tail happy under braking. i have the hi-specs fitted to mine and diesel 4 stud drums on the back which is fine.

Believe it or not, the AX is actually more aerodynamic than the 106 or the saxo with considerably less frontal area so coupled with the weight advantage and similar handling characteristics, it's a very good choice to modify from the PSA range.

Some interesting options on engines being banded around. Not really decided anything yet tbh no hurry as it will be a few years this at the least. Although not going to be chasing power at all but something with a bit more go for sure.

Had a eyeball of your thread e8_pqck and your car is a fair beast, noticed you have a satchshift, what's your thoughts on it?
