Been quoted £540 fully comp... still cant quite believe it myself. Thats with Adrian Flux
22, 4 years driving experience, 4 years no claims.
Im currently paying 390 fully comp for the 1.0 with direct line.
Getting old does have its benefits in this instance lol.

Yeh, I've got my VTS engine on one. It bolts through 4 bolts in the side of the block where the gearbox bolts onto.
I was a bit nervous about using 4 bolts to support my engine, but it all feels properly solid!

Now we're moving!
All the bottom end and head parts are now sorted
Taking bottom end and head to a place called Cylinder Rebores on Friday where theyre going to fit my bottom end parts:
big end bearings
thrust bearings
whatever the crank bearings are called
new piston rings and have the bores reglazed
bottom end oil seals fitted.
The timing is then going to be done so new head gasket put in place
vernier pulleys fitted
cambelt kit
water pump swapped over
Got new bolts and fixings for most of them too
And the sump resealed.
So basically when thats done ive already got the other parts sorted and ready to put back onto the engine which will take me about a week/2 weeks tops.
Carbon coil pack cover has arrived this morning, coil pack was new before so fitting new spark plugs.
Lee is going to polish my rocker covers for me.
Ive got the P&P throttle body to attach back to the air intake housing and of course the Procomp is here for when it goes into the car.
My next plan is to check ive got all the coolant hoses etc and makr sure ive got a full circuit for the new radiator.
The loom still needs cleaning and sorting out but i dont need to do that yet.
Ordered some engine mount parts, new bushes etc here and there.
Clocks are apart, some yellow dials on my christmas list
Gearbox im waiting on a phonecall for a recon one rather than a normal 2nd hand one.
Then i just need an ECU with a catcam 708 base map for the VTS.
Woops bring on the hard work now

Big day tomorrow, the engines going to have the timing done etc.
Just finished applying the last little bit of paint on the block, packed up all the new parts etc in bags.
Just got to stick it all in the car in the morning and drop it off
When its back ill start putting all the other bits back on like spark plugs, coil pack, cam covers, alternator etc
Samco hoses (yellow) are on order too.
Just writing my xmas list now, so far ive got:
Yellow dials
Engine mounts (whats everyones thoughts on some group N ones?)
A few other style bits
Halfords vouchers (ideal for engine bay paint and anti rust treatment etc)

Thought id replied to that, but just having checked its still in my outbox lmao.
The jist of it though is that being a saxo owner and with lowered susp/low profile tyres im used to plenty of vibrations, squeaks, rattles etc lol
Engine mounts either way will be on the good ol' christmas list anyway so plenty of time to get a few more views here and there.
