I thought the gas flowed head was the main part of headwork?
Has a port and polish been carried out Matt mate? (or am I being daft and
thats the same as the gas flowed head)

Of which they said wouldnt really be worth me spending that kind of money unless i have throttle bodies.
As im not (at this moment in time) considering bodies my £300 would be better spent elsewhere ie. contributing to my forged pistons
And if i do ever decide to get throttle bodies then ill probably just get the bigger valved head and sell mine on anyway.
been hugely impressed with everything about QEP, theyve replied via email very quickly, handles the initial enquiry very well and offered clear honest advice. Always able to get through to them by phone and let me know exactly what was going on and when it would be delivered etc.
Couldnt ask for any more tbh

To be honest in terms of any gain or performance ive got no idea, been going a whole lot on peoples recommendations and just generally wanting everything to be cleaned up and put back to as near to new standard as possible.
It should run as sweet as a nut with the valves being done and iirc the skimming will help with the compression. then the Camshafts and followers should go a fair way for performance.
Just been to a place called Cylinder rebores today for a quote on labour for fitting all my new bottom end bits which include:
Big ends
little ends
crankshaft seals
half flanges
the other half bearings that fit somewhere on the crank shaft
Forged pistons
Piston rings
Im still undecided on whether to just change to a standard sized forged piston or whether to get a slightly bigger set 0.3mm or so just to allow the rebore place to clean the clylinders a little?
Thoughts on this (Josh; i didnt get chance to call John when i got back earlier to see what GMC's recommendation would be) will standard sized forged ones be fine?
Then theyre going to put the head back on with new head gasket kit and setup all my timing for me with the new cambelt kit and the vernier pulleys that ive got
Also got a new water pump to put on.
Theyre doing all that (as its just labour costs with me having all the parts) for £170! bonus.
So ill wait for the forged pistons to arrive and then the block will be together within a couple of weeks.
Still on target for having the Engine fully assembled by New year (all being well) Then ill have a few months to take old engine out, clean engine bay, drop new engine in and get it all wired and mapped.
See how we go
