Get the engine out, clean the bay up, get it sprayed, that will take you a good month or so... Mounts will have arrived by then if the french get there arses in gear!! Lol

If your still waiting for the mounts by then get the rear beam off, fuel tank down, plumb in the fuel lines. Fit the exhaust ready to mate up with the manifold theres another weeks work so into Feb and thats if you start now....

There's plenty you can be cracking on with mate

Time working on the cars not so much the issue, before the end of Feb theres 3 weeks of solid work that laurens dads put aside to purely work on the car even when im not there to do it. Then im sure i can put 20-30 hours a week into doing it aswel.

Im more worried about funds being an issue really with ECU, mapping and gearbox still very big items left to purchase in a short space of time.

Thats good mate, i was taking into consideration a normal working week, where chances are you only have 1 full day and a few evenings if the typical mrs leaves you alone long enough Lol

If you go for it every day then you should be able to get it done i the 3weeks easily i reckon.

Gearbox, vts one £150 should see you through 6months easilly - thats worst case scenario really.

ECU depends what you go for, but will cost a fair wack! not far off 1k for kms inc wideband and display.

In fact i'd almost be tempted to run it on standard ecu to john, then get him to wire the display in so it doesnt blow it (on the way up like mine), then have to wait a month for refund, and have to buy another one (so out of pocket for a mont),

It only takes an hour's labour to fit the kms, easy as pie really so that should be fine. I want to come up to gmc with you for the drive up dont forget mate

These are all if's and but's, i can explain better in person mate

Update

More engine progress to come in large on Sunday but for the time being:

I've got my Recon gearbox ordered £375 inc delivery with 2 years guarantee. Everything internal changed from gears, syncro's, seals etc etc

Pleased with that in the price range that i had in mind and the guarantee is spot on.

Better still it'll be delivered to me no later than Thursday

Car is off the road at the end of this month without fail so...27 days to go!

All my spare time then in the next 3 weeks going into flying through taking old engine out, doing engine bay and dropping the new engine in

The mrs's dad has 3 weeks off work aswel dedicated to spending it helping me on the car so thats alot of man hours going into it

Fitting of the new engine also relies heavily on receiving the Group N engine mounts which still have a backlog of about 2-3 weeks :s

A good day for me yesterday.

Rushy and Rich came round for the day so it was good to catch up with them abd get some bits done on the cars

Teebag also popped round for a while

On the engine me and Rushy started to torque everything up fully

Cam covers and Thermostat housing are all fully sealed and tightened now. Titanium bolts on the Cam covers, look a bit nicer than the standard bolts

Spark plugs, coil pack, coil pack cover all fully fitted

Drive belt applied on the alternator and crankshaft pulley, tentioned this up correctly also.

Inlet manifold is next on the list. Also been through all the citroen diagrams and worked up a final list of parts which i need to buy prior to fitting beginning.

So after all that theres now just 24 days before the old engine comes out
