you might have blocked certain sites or something liek that, just go back into your settings and make sure things like 'show pictures' are ticked

I can't believe people still use explorer. Firefox is so much better, been using it for years.

ok, i'd follow Viper's second comment! but as it's not your PC then fair do's hard getting sum1 else to start using Firefox or similar out there...
or..
internet options...
A) Security Tab bets to reset to medium to high in the dropdown menu ... next tab..
B) Privacy Tab.. slide it to medium
C) Advanced tab..
this is the detaile done which might have been checked over by accidently go through it extensively i wont liste verythign as theres loads but il list some key things to check...
tick the java sun box, in multimedia section tick all of them bar 'show image download placeholders'
use ssl 3.0 and tsl 1.0 also check enable page transitions, page debugging http 1.0's etc too they are all to do with how you see/download and phish through content through the browser.
I'd reccomened the following too..
Update from flash www.adobe.com/go i think... find the latets flash update that now has HD installed with the update
update your Java. and also macromedia shockwave... possibly!
Doing that.. restart/ restart IE
if that fails then something is up maybe dodgy version installed so just re install IE. or last but not least system restore!
p.s soz for spelling cba to go back through it re-correct it cos i type too fast! soz!
