couple of cleaning product questions
Steam Cleaners...any1 use them? are they any good? Thinking mainly for the engine bay...
Carplan Wonder Wheels...Any1 use it? does it do what it says on the tin?

im a bit of a snob so wouldnt put any carplan stuff near my car tbh lol
just look on this site http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/ mate thats what i did and got some good stuff cheapish and was good service

just some thing to clean the brake dust off my wheels. think they might be better off with a refurb anyway but its just to tidy them up if ya get me 
Also looking into a cheap steam machine from work. duno how they work though or if they are any good.

look at the auto glym stuff dude on cleanyourcar... works very well  - how bad are your alloys then?
edit just realised that tim at CYC doesn't stock Auto Glym stuff  - maybe from halfords or the like then

they aren't overly bad just a bit of brake dust here and there. I have most of the autoglym range in my garage anyway lol.

polish works on breakdust. then get some poorboys wheel sealant or something similar to stop the dust clinging so much.
steam cleaning is a bad idea unless you know what you are doing
rag and elbow grease FTW TBH!

wonder wheels is a good product to get the baked on break dust off the wheels, but the problem is that because it is acid based its far to aggressive and actually damages the lacquer on the wheens.
megs do a good wheel cleaner, and another one which is more aggressive for roccasional use when things get bad.
you need to put a wheel polish on them once you have cleaned them and the dust then falls off

with my old wheels i used to use auto glym alloy wheel seal. That worked well but i used it from when the wheels were new. Might give the megs one a try

you need to get them clean before sealing them otherwise you 'lock' the dirt in.
use a clay bar to get the stubborn stains off

i used to ues a steam cleaner at work! was a proper one though as i worked at a car wash and yea they are reli good!
