Default Claying novice

I usually just wash me car with turtlewax 2in1 car shampoo and wax. Can anyone explain what detailing is? and claying? and spray and wipe quick detailer? Does it just apply like a protective layer and you do`nt have to wash the car as much?

thnx

Detailing is cleaning and perfecting your entire car not just washing it,paying attention to every detail (detailing)
Claying is used to remove bonded elements from your paint work leaving a smooth glass finish reading for everything else,
Quick detailer is just a quick clean really just to remove dust and such when your doesnt need a proper wash it doesnt really have any protectiveness,
That is what wax and selant are for

id buy chemical guys shampoo or ph snowfoam/with a hose end sprayer, then you dont need any buckets or sponge, spray the foam on let it dwell for 10minutes and rinse off, after that claybar the car, then possibly a wash down with chemical guys shampoo, sonus drying towels to dry the car off,now from here you have to decide do you want to detail(completely remove all swirl marks and showroom paintwork)or give it a good going over with polish and a sealent......be warned it gets expensive and its addictive once you get going! heres a list to buy

snowfoam/hose end sprayer attachment or chemical guys shampoo
sonus drying towels
sonus or meguiars claybar kit with detailer spray
wheel cleaner
poorboys wheel sealent
applicator pads for polish
microfibre sponge if not using snowfoam
2bucket method and grill for 1 bucket
various buffing clothes
paint sealent

yes im a cleaning whore lol

Pre wash (Snowfoam is what I use, there's other alternatives though)
Wash
Rinse
Clay (To take the contaminants outta the paint (Lube is needed too))
Wash
Rinse
Polish
Wax (To seal the paintwork.)
