Considerring white buddy and I know it'd look pretty awesome, I'll get the wheels on and decide colourwise from there on.

Isn't it a better option to actually buy a vtr ?
I couldn't warrent spending all this money.

Tbh buddy I would have loved a VTR but the insurance is awful for me, I'm in one of the worst postcoded areas and at the moment I'm only earning £25 a week due to work not fitting hours around Uni (which is only 5 hours work) but in the long run I'm going to enjoy having a sleeper a little bit more Plus I'm earning in my third year of Uni so that should help me save and spend a bit more towards the car. The car should be lasting me five years. So by the time I'm done with it it'll be 14 years registered. And hopcraft don't worry I'm quite safe with my money and genuinely look for bargains.
Essay ftw!

3 years no claims bud (driving since 17)? I don't even have one yet buddy. You're paying less on your insurance than I am on my 1.1 TPFT When the engine is dropped in it may cost a substancial amount more, but the vtr lump won't be happening till 2 more years. Hopefully with 2 years NCB.
And plus the 1.1 x is alot lighter than a vtr as standard, I doubt the extra 120kg is in the engine.

Cheers bud, I don't know why but it means alot coming from you alex. It's proving quite hard to source a decent set of dampers at the minute, but I'm a tad worried about the ride if I don't source any by the time I get my struts.
I'm just itching to get it all sorted now. Luckily I have a week off Uni (nicknamed assessment week) where I should get the car sorted
Work have sadly just cut my hours, so my raceland 4-2-1 and supersprint full exhaust are after christmas buys.... plus in about 2 months I have my anniversary, the girlfriends birthday, christmas, the sisters 18th, then valentines... seriously tempted to ask the girlfriend to buy me the 4-2-1

Snow ftl
My car does too many miles I swear, need a diesel... or something safe anyway.
Went to collect my front struts today, from Avomexico up in Tamworth, took the dad along and my sister wanted to go shopping too so she came along.

I never knew how heavy a single suspension leg was, and the brakes are huge on the vts compared to the 1.1 anywho....
On the way home I got caught up in heavy snow showers on the M6 and M1, so bad that the snow got stuck to the wipers, and I had to slow to 50mph.
There were some right loons on the M roads in this weather tbh, could barely see anything and traffic was forever grinding to a halt!

Trial fitted the old 1.1 shaft in the new hub, and all is well so looks like it will be an easy fit

Parts are collected for the front, just considerring what front and rear shocks to buy as I haven't a clue atm!
Koni, bilstein, apex or spax...
Left to buy for conversion:
Rear axle,
Uprated rear dampers,
Uprated front shocks,
Brake bleed kit,
New torque wrench,
Spring compressor,
Decent brake fluid,
4 locking wheel bolts,
Then for the new year the cars in need of a service

Good stuff mate. Snow looks bad! Hope it come up this way - reallly want the day off work lol (just so I can get on with my car lol)
Have tried Koni and Spax shocks. Konis gave a slightly softer ride imo, but both are ok. Have heard the Apex are good for the money. Can't really comment on the Bilstein as I have never had anything to do with them

Snows awesome, means I don't have to commute to Uni on the trains as one usually hops off the rails due to "leafes on the line"
Spax over koni then? Hmm thats intresting, cheers for that bud. Ideally I want to get the car on track next year sometime at least once anyway so want a decent enough setup for the miles I do on the british (bumpy as f*ck ) M and A roads and a set up that will be decent for track use.

Getting excited-and annoyed.
Left to buy for conversion:
Rear axle- now bought, standard 4 stud drum brake, awaiting delivery.Uprated rear dampers, purchasing after christmas when the money is better.
Uprated front shocks, purchasing after christmas when the money is better.
Brake bleed kit, got one for free.
Spring compressor, bought.
Decent brake fluid, dot 4 fluid isn't hard to come by.
4 locking wheel bolts, Shitroen will be getting my monies.
New torque wrench, found one getting it tomorrrow
Whilst at shitroen I'll be buying parts to sort my leaking oil problem, my sump is caked in it at the moment and it needs sorting, I'll also be getting a rocker cover seal as it is cracked, and then down to halfords for a new oil filter.
And whilst on about probelms, the garage who sorted my handbrake at MOT time didn't do a good job...
SHOCK HORROR
So anywho the handbrake seems to be failing on one side, need to have that looked after the rear axle is sorted and as it seems when they "sorted the handbrake" all they actually did is tighten it under the car as the heatplate (underneath the handbrake cables and above the exhaust) has come loose... gunna be a fun christmas is all I can say.
The car will be lowered next week so that should cheer me up.

Yeah I'm going to speak to Sam about it soon and tell him it sometimes feels a bit shifty and sometimes feels properly engaged, cowboy mechanics ftl.
Just needs a general clean inside and out before it's in sam's hands.
Just waiting for the delivery on the axle, worrying when the company doesn't email back.
Cheers smogie, the lights were really easy to do, just gotta be careful that they don't get too hot in the oven

Rear axle f*cked.
Rear axle took a decade to arrive, came on friday midday (was meant to arrive tuesday) took it out the lorry as the trucker was too lazy, checked it over and there were no drums, no wheel bearings, no cables, and only one side had a set of shoes.
I was fuming, anywho went to the motorfactor to grab as much as possible and trucked it to leicester to speak to piggy about what could be done about it.
Came to the conclusion that really for £115 I have been sent junk, which I wasn't expecting from a company. Should get all my money back as it wasn't as they described.
Getting a new axle after the new year, I believe Sam is snatching one from Alex just means the cars going to look like a door wedge; with it being lowerred 40mm at front on vtr wheels and rolling on standard 3 stud steelies until after christmas.

Front conversion underway
Just got back from 5 hours in the garage with lots of breaks and discussions over what could be done and several seized bolts later I'm home.
One suspension leg is off and out, I'm playing around with the 3 stud hub right now to snatch anything I can from it. I may just reassemble and sell.
Sadly the lowerring springs have yet to be fitted as we are missing a t-40 bit which was a bit of a kick in the shins, however I believe I have found one laying in the house.
So the car currently has one suspension leg missing and is sitting in Pauls garage waiting for both sides to be completed, which hopefully should be done tomorrow (as long as no other bolts are seized).
With citroen a job can take 20mins or 20 days!!!!
