2. Find a way to contact him with no trace.

A perfect murder is to kill someone and for there to be no investigation.
Slow poison with alpha radiation for example.
Would come up as untraceable as alpha particles dont penetrate skin.
The person would die but over such a long frame that it would be put to something like a rare disease for example.

And the time frame would allow you to escape to somewhere else anyway.
