Shouldn't need to use it everytime you clean your car.
If you clean your wheels every weekend say you should be able to keep on top of the brake dust. Just use it when you can't get the really horrible crap off.
Obviously the usual:
Don't use on chrome wheels
Don't use on wheels where the lacquer has broke

We've started stocking detailing products and we've got a couple of wheel cleaners, one from Muc-Off and one from Meguiars.
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-59413-me...l-cleaner.aspx
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-59396-mu...l-cleaner.aspx
Both of them are very popular. I would suggest the Muc-Off if you want to use it often as it's quite gentle, but very good at shifting the grime.
There is another thing that may interest you as well, the Muc-Off Silica Wheel Seal
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-59398-mu...heel-seal.aspx
It keeps your wheels looking good for longer. It covers the wheels in a thin protective layer that stops the dirt getting to the actual wheel surface, and it's also difficult for the dirt to stick to that coating, so cleaning is easier.
A bonus of the Muc-Off and Megiuars is that with your member discount you can get a bottle of wheel cleaner and a can of wheel seal for about the same price as that one from Halfords.
Cheers
Tim

Oilman,
You got any harsher stuff that'll remove carbon brake dust?

I don't want to clean the discs I want to clean the wheels but some of the other stuff i've used doesn't get it off. So need a harsher formula.

Should have explained myself a bit better there. Those two sprays should be able to remove the brake dust from the wheels, without harming the rims. You may need to cover up the tyres though. If you then went over the wheels with one of the wheel cleaners, they should come up well. A layer of the Silica Sealant will make cleaning them easier next time. I've been trying to get hold of the Muc-Off rep as I think their wheel cleaner may be suitable for the job, without needing a brake spray. I just want him to confirm that though.

I just got this back from the Muc-Off rep
'If he has nice wheels which are laquered it would be best to use the wheel cleaner and the brake dust scubber to loosen it....If he want to do it the lazy way then the disc brake cleaner would be better.
Personally the wheel cleaner and elbow grease is best!'
Hope that helps

Well, we've got an offer starting today so that if you spend £25 and use the code FREESHIP09, you won't have to pay for carriage.
Just remembered we do a wheel cleaning kit from Muc-Off which has the wheel cleaner and wheel sealant, plus a load of brushes and bits for £29.64 (with your member discount). If you just want the wheel cleaner and sealant, it won't come to £25, but you can use the code FIRSTBUY10 and get 10% off your first order. When you sign up on the website, make sure you select that you are a saxperience member to get another 10% off.
I have a feeling that the Muc-Off wheel cleaner is pH neutral (we've got a lot of new cleaning products and I can't remember the details of them all yet), but I can try to find out more
