Should be some holes in the fascia to fit in some removal keys (you can get these from halfords.)
Insert the keys, and it should become free allowing you to pull it out. Unplug the wires in the back, insert them into the new CD player and pop it back in.

Not hard to do really, although you may need a converter so as the cables fit the CD player. You can get these from halfords aswell.

If you seriously cba to do it yourself, go into halfords and they will do it, maybe for a couple of quid!

the silver cage or thing as you call it is what supports and secures the cd player. You need to get a screwdriver on the outside of this and bend it and pull it out...

i wouldnt advise this normally but if the cd player doesn't matter and you have no keys to hand its the easiest thing to do.... anybody can do it.. if you have a boyfriend or dad is around ask them...

you use things called keys...

if you go to halfords and ask for a cd player key for the manufacturer of your cd player... such as kenwood or sony etc..

then you put one key into the right side of the cd player (down the side of the metal cage) and one on the left side and then you can pull out your cd player...

they will cost about 3 quid...

then all you have to do is disconnect the plugs, and plug in your new cd player and shove it in...

the plugs just go straight in so dont worry you will be able to do it

yeah it is really easy... your best bet is to try and do it in halfords car park, you should do it easy but if not just go into the shop flutter your eyelashes and ask them for help...

it works for me all the time......
