if your uppers are stiff enough yes

i have the full group a pugsports on my gti and there ace
on a daily i wouldnt see much point over a group n though as your not really putting the car through as hard use as a full track/rally car

Can't solid mounts (eventually with metal fatigue) break the gearbox casing or damage the floor?

Just something to consider really, but as above will be a bit hardcore for street use IMO.

They do tend to brake things in the long run as people have said. Or as some of the turbo guys found they can actually brake things rather quickly. Good for low to mid power true race cars where they are rebuilt routinely and cover relatively low mileage.

i'm solidly mounting the engine in the 309 but I wouldn't do it on a road car that covers off significant miles. Hard rubber ones do the job for most (group N spec)

Yeah Id agree on that, I know people whove sheared off casings etc due to overly solid mounts.

The best place for them all is;

Gearbox Mount

Lower Mount

ECU Mount

Comes to Around £150. A set from one company will cost around £225 delivered, theres no benefit to doing this either unless your a shopping list whore and want the PugSport set.

The Box one being a BakerBM, the lower mounts a Pugsport one, and the ECU one is a Vibratechnics. Im running these and Im very happy with em.

Think i'm gonna go for the full set of BakerBM mounts, can't go wrong for £80.

Went to Citroen today and they wanted £60 + VAT for the upper mount alone!

I use solid mountings. I use vibratechnics solid upper mounts and solid alloy gearbox and fork bush mounts...never had a problem....they are prone to a lot of vibration. Measures have to be put in place. Reinforced the mounting to body work ect...all on a road car and used daily for work...my project I am working on now will not use engine mounts...I will use motor plate mounts.

seems to be a bit of wrong terminology going on here
vibra technics +bm etc are NOT solid mountings --just stiff rubber and that is what i would always suggest and uses as the complete kit from 1 maker
solid as in bolting engine +g/box in with no vibration absorbtion is only suitable for straight line drag racing --nothing else , and only for someone who is profoundly deaf--
I have pulled lower mounting out of g/box casing and also pulled lower mounting off the floor and that is with stiff rubber ones --
using solid i,m quite sure the failure rate of engine blocks ,gear casings, floor brackets etc would be very high

Pugsport kit can be got directly from Peugeot Sport France for £177. Specialtuning were looking £255 for the same kit.
