adam1490's vts track progress
Hey guys, thought i would make a progress thread as it seems a lot of people do them, this is my car then i 1st bought it, apart from the induction kit which i put on.
ll scorpian exhaust inc de cat
4-2-1 branch manifold
remapped
ported and polished head
Keny cams
Itg maxogen air filter
Lowered 40 or 50mm
pearl black vts wheels
black front head lamps and dimma grille
clifford g5 alarm
uprated front disks
after this i stripped it out a bit and changed the seats, and put some bonnet raisers on
a little update again, deicided to get a new gearbox as it started crunching in 3rd, so got mine reconditioned, also had some new brakes fitted just for the mean time untill i go for some hi specs, got some new toyo t1-r's and also ordered some toyo r888's for when i next go to a track , and got some team dynamic wheels.
at the ring
after that i thought i would swap my air filters over becasue i got a procomp cheap,
so it went from this
out of this one
to this

a couple of days ago i went to pick up a roll cage, and i managed to snap a drive shaft while crossing the a1 in rush hour, which shook me up a bit, slowly rolling across the motorway as 3 lorrys were coming towards me, and all i could see is the revs and speed going up but i wasnt mooving !!!!!!!!!!!!! but got across ok and managed to pull over in a little village, i rang the lad who i got the roll cage off and explained the situation, his username on the 106 oweners club is Dougal, very nice lad and very helpful, so he came down, jacked my car up and changed the driveshaft by the side of the road, and then followed me home to check the car was ok and nothing went wrong, still cant stop saying thank you to him,
here is where the driveshaft snapped, there was no sign of wear on it before that, and the shaft wasnt even very old, + when i pulled off i did pull off fairly hard to get across but only managed to get up to 3k rpm and then it went
it was the passanger side one, this is the part that goes into the gearbox

and here is the other part of the drive shaft
and then here is a couple of pictures of the cage that will be fitted tomorrow, and then ill get the door and roof bars made up this or next week, think my best bet is to weld it in, or else iv got to drill holes in the car to put bolts threw, so either way it wont be coming out,

hopefully this week aswell i can order some 3 inch 5 point harness's instead of them raceland ones that came with the seats, + side mount the seats rather than the big heavy subframes, also going to take the door cards out and electric window motor out, and get some carbon fibre door cars with 106 door bins

little update, thought i would take the rest of the stuff out the car, and put the cage in sorry about the bad image quality, i m at collage the next 2 days so on the weekend ill tidy it up inside the car, and start getting the door bars made etc, did i see on a post that people use smooth hamerite to paint the inside of there cars?
also i need to source a nice steering wheel and a blanking plate for the passanger air bag and then take all that wireing out aswell,

love the car mate, i changed the steering wheel on my car. got a 300mm MOMO. i took my clocks apart and put some electrical tape over the inside of the air bag light and it doesn't show up and people cant see you've fiddled with it. Piss easy to do and doesn't take too long
