Its illegal for them to be facing you and flash? I've seen this many times, even this evening though a local village

If they cant proscute you if their facing forward, then whats the point in them facing you, and drawing lines and adding pizzo strips in the floor?

When you say speed towards it? you on about at 35MPH? then a few metres before the white line, slam your breaks on and go through it at 30MPH?

I was flashed from behind a few weeks back. It was only ONE flash instead of 2 quick flashes.

Upon reading some forums, one flash means you wasn't speeding (i was doing 31mph), but the camera has a error, or needs calibrating??
The strips on the floor on both sides of the road are for proof. They take two photos if you are speeding and by looking at them they can prove your speed using speed = distance/time. So you have no comeback.

They are printed on both sides of the road to stop people just driving on the wrong side to get away with speeding. especially when overtaking.

Exactly.

but I dare you to overtake a marked traffic car legally and safely and get away with it.

At the very least they will stop you and give you a producer just to annoy you. That's what happened to me, he started giving me shit about doing 85mph past him when I know for a fact I didn't top 70. lol.

Did you ask him to prove it?

Like i undertook the police car and i was told i was clearly doing 40MPH...

I asked for some evidence.. "You dont need evidence, i can tell you i was doing 30MPH exactly" i refused to give in and in the end cause he wasnt be-littling me i think he gave up and gave me a verbal warning lol.

No way. I was fucking steaming at the time and didn't wanna cause a fuss

No seriously, I told him I knew I wasn't speeding and that I hadn't done anything wrong. He took my license, asked me who the car was registered too, who was it insured under. All me, went back to his car checked it over and came back a completely different person.

Did take the piss out of my driving license photo though.

apparently you can use your car to the full extent to over take
but as soon as u pull back in you must immediately get back to the speed limit

WHAT?! Are you completely bonkers? That defeats the whole object of speed limits.

Tell me you are not serious about that comment.

I was in college with somebody who also believed this.

Even when I suggested we could all drive at any speed we wanted on the wrong side of the road he refused to budge.

Then he bragged about his 6*9's in his parcel shelf with his new sub in the boot...... But then he started telling everybody about the electric turbo he was getting off ebay.

I left him to it. lol

one type of camera that is not mentioned is the new camera car.
Ok I'm not having a laugh here, it was on the BBC not long ago.
Basically, its a white car abit larger than a smart car, with a telescopic pole that come out the roof with a camera mounted on the top.
so its like a submarine periscope. They can be deployed anywhere. They can be used for speeding, invalid or no tax disc (it can zoom), driver using mobile phone while driving, no seatbelt.
Its one evil mother F'in camera car. I'll try and find a picture so you dont think im having a laugh

edit:
Ok I cant find the one in BBC report, but this is basically what it is

I'll keep looking

Here
it is

thats not a lamp post ha ha, that's the camera extended

right few things
first i was going down a duel carrige way 2 lanes one way 2 lanes other i was in the far left the camera was in the far right bus lane facing me i was doing 40 in a 30 it flashed once towards me this was at night i got a letter through saying i got 4 points and a 150 pound fine is that legal

second thing is in the highway code it states you are allowed to use the full power of your car to overtake as long as you return to the speed limit straight away after overtaking

and third is in my town on one of the roads there is two new cameras about usual speed camera hight but there small and black got two inforered light either side and facing both ways they look very wierd and alot of people are saying there speed camera i wish i had a picture
