Flat paint help? - Saxperience

A good mate has just bought a MkII Toyota MR2, May be jap but its a classic

. Its done just over 115k miles and its on a J plate so you can understand the paint has taken abit of a beating. Overall its in very good nick. But after a closer look its very obvious the paint has really began to lose its depth and shine looking dull and flat, swirls and streaks are present on most panels. Just wanted some advice on the steps needed to really bring it back to life. Products needed etc? car colour is the classic MR2 red.
Any help is much appreciated as i know there's some top boys on here for paint and detailing

Machine polish ftw.....speak to pred or wayne and get it sorted imo

Totally agree - pointless wasting ££ and effort on anything else.

cheers guys. Think Pred and Wayne are abit out of driving distance. We were looking at picking up a 7424 and a few light cutting pads as garage, strong light and heat are not a problem. had a quick go with basic polish and the difference is noticable but not hugely convincing. Detail the way forward then?
