for smoothing the port and flaring it, it needs to be shit smooth and round!
if that makes any difference, i doubt it would be that noticable! the full inside of the box smoothed and rounded off would of been your best improvement!
have you tried making a different sized port to change the tunning, making that nice and smooth / round and putting it inside the port.
like, make another one, the same size as the internal measurements, and slide it in!
could be interesting . . .
also, whats the measurements of your box?
