the colour certainly is - bright purple
I'll probably do them matt black or something, as going back to bare metal isn't really an option tbh

will try and go matt black I think - if they can powdercoat matt colours?
Wouldn't mind getting a few brackets, strut brace done too.
What colour have people done their engine blocks? I was thinking silver to show up and oil leaks ? Don;t want too many funky colours kicking about my car

Matt's/satin's are no problem with coating. Picked some satin black wheels up last week and they looked mint. Had a word with the powder place while I was there and they can do any colour you can think or really lol. Shot blasting removes all old paint and crusty bits as well so looks good as new when they come back.
Place near me is cheap - wish I'd known about them earlier as I'd have taken all my brackets, arb, wishbones etc to them instead of painting them.
My block is metallic gloss black, but the head, inlet and gearbox will be silver to spot leaks.

Shot blasting might be a good idea tbh mate - thanks, never really thought about it tbh!! Suppose It just makes sure the finish is spot on for powdercoating over!
Another thing to sort out in the Autumn/Winter ! Got a fair few bits to be done tbh so hopefully won't be anything too mental cost wise!

A lad on here told me he had about 30 little/medium sized pieces done for about £80. That was all arb, steering arms and all engine brackets. Made a good job of it too. I was charged £10 a side for struts/hubs, so not too bad

Those prices are great!! I suppose the more pieces you take the better value it becomes.
Will have to do a bit of investigating for a place in Bournemouth to do some

There will be places all over if you look round industrial estates lol. I know of around 20 places round here I reckon lol, but you never hear of them advertising anywhere, just kind of see them when driving round!

Thanks !! Was always looking forward to seeing your boosted saxo running with the setup you had planned for it - but the new R32 sounds like it'll be the nuts!
No, I'm not getting parts from Andy-l's car, well I don't think so anyway
I think the parts I've just bought are from a supercharged c2 that's just been in PFC ? Not bought the magazine so can't say for sure - looked to be an orange and purple engine theme?
Yeh, I thought the ITb setup would have been wicked, but I could see where John (GMC) was coming from and when I worked out the throttle plate size in having a single TB vs 4x42mm TB's I could see how much of a difference there would have been, plus Jenvey don't do below 40mm TB's - I still plan on having a nice TB's rallye at some point for some NA fun!

Just seen a comment that andy made about Andy L car but think it was just a reference.
orange and purple? was that the one that went up in flames??
Yeh would loved to have seen what it was like if i ever did finish it but hay the gtr will be a little faster.
Was wondering about the itb set up since the Rb26 runs itb plus a little boost, I would agree with you on the itb v 55mm tb tho prob not much difference.

I'm pretty sure it didn't go up in flames, unless it'd bee rebuild since then with all new charger etc. ? It's apparently gone off for a very nice engine conversion now!
I'd have always been a bit nervous picking it up from mapping with Tb's, expecting it to be jumpy on little throttle openeings, whereas now I know it'll be superb with a c2 vts inlet etc.
Your gtr sounds like it'll be a lot faster than the vts with a 94 charger, especially as the gtr is Awd

Hope to get it mapped up early 2011, but will depend on money really - realistically want it done for Easter so can have some time off from work and enjoy it.
Not sure about Andys timescale?
The engine conversion sounds good, not really my place to give away the project, sure it'll be about at shows plus a feature - don't know a huge amount about it tbh.

Postman has just been!!!!
Just got a parcel from the postman (the c2 vts inlet is sitting at the post office waiting to be picked up I bought it first so was sent separately, re-scheduled for Friday )
Apologies the pictures are a tad bit dark
55mm ATSpeed Shaftless TB
Adapter plate for C2 VTS Inlet
GMC Alloy Crank Pulley (I think it's slightly larger than oem so will have to check pulley sizes, the 94 and alternator pulley speeds)
Around 630cc injectors and c2 vts fuel rail so they will fit perfectly:
GMC Supercharger bracket, and both tensioner and idler pulley:
Just waiting for the inlet now. I'm looking to order a baffled sump this week, and then spending will be curbed until the summer ready to rebuild the engine!
