Anyhow, i don't know the technical shizzle regarding lighting, umbrellas and i definately have absolutely no idea what a flipping clamshell or elinchrom is .. But from a normal person... The pictures look amazing.

It was quite dark so the shutter speed was quite low, and the flashes simply 'froze' the action whilst we were in mid air

A heads - The Ranger A Head (SPEED) offers a unique super short flash duration with a single, twin electrode A-Flashtube to ensure even light distribution. The Ranger A Head is the perfect choice for "Action Freezing" photography up to a 1/5120 s when the A-Head is plugged into the Ranger Speed AS super fast channel B.
s head isnt on elinchrom hold on
There are three heads that have been specifically designed for use with the original FreeStyle and Ranger RX packs.
The Free Lite S being the standard option; the Free Lite A head is a short duration (85% of the flash duration of an S head) version, which is better suited to action shots where motion needs to be frozen by a really short flash pulse.

Cheers dude! Nope I don't work in a studio or anything like that. It's a fairly simple set up, you have your normal flashguns connected to trigger, and that receives wireless pulse from a trigger connected to the camera - and that's it.
We're going to play some more this weekend if the weather pics up. I've got about a trillion people I know lined up for similar stuff

flash guns are aroun 1/2000 -3200 iirc from memory sad layer.
I know at the time they were a touch slower than the As.
Obviously they are better than cheapo portables, Just without the grunt and the modelling lamps
