If you aren't in the trade, don't bother, Cops can pull you and ask for proof your in the trade, (they clamping down on trader policy's) had my policy 4 months been pulled twice and asked for proof.

no requirement to buy and sell cars at all, had my traders for 10 years and never heard of that one lol. police are clamping down on traders policies as loads of so called traders are buying performance cars and running them around on trade insurance , my policy costs approx 700 pa TPFT, with DNA Insurance

Why do you think you need traders? Surely you just need a policy with cover on other cars

Thats what the cops said to me, we have a big problem with it round here. So cops are stopping everyone to check. Apparently the main problem come in the event of a claim (as we know how insurers love paying out) if you cant prove you in trade they can void your policy saying you lied to obtain insurance same as if you have points and dont tell them.
