new laptop help
i want a new laptop as this one struggles with a few programs
i have no idea what is a good processor or graphics card
it would be used for a few games like football manager and i will have auto cad and probably a few other big programs
whats out there
idealy i dont want to spend more than 500ish

Dare I say it, PC world will have some good deals around this sort of time.
I don't think you could go to far wrong with a Intel Processor, look at the HP Laptop / Pavilion range.
But id really advise if you could get away with NOT having a laptop, get a desktop. With laptops you are always paying for your computing power to be compacted. So if you have the space and dont need to portability, for the price for of laptop you could get a desktop with 2/3 x the power.

From my experience of Mid & High end Laptops - They overheat like a Mother F****r!

Personally I think Sony Vaio's are overpriced for what they are
You are paying like 30% more for just the brand name
I would look at the 15R from Dell:

Just over £500 but has a better graphics card and i3 processor
AMD Athlon (which the sony has) is old hat these days

i have a laptop and desktop atm both getting on but i dont use the desktop havnt in years, its for uni use so i can do with it being mobile
i was looking at john lewis as i get discount 15% iirc

Id go with a HP aswell acer produce some good ones too atm that perform well in tests. Read reviews from reliable sources itll last a few years ao do your research.

Unfortunately, you will always be up against it when you request a laptop with 'good graphics'
Samsung R540 Laptop <--- is a good model for the price/specification.
