Accident investigator Peter Jennings said the Trooper was pushed 17 metres by the impact and would have reached a speed of 24 mph. For that to have occurred the Peugeot must have been travelling at about 40 mph despite braking.

and thats a lightweight car hitting a tank! i thought it had sunk in but small details like that, well i actually dont know what to say tbh.

"Answered no questions but gave a prepared statement"
Well thats clearly a bullshit statement, like blue peter, heres one i prepared earlier.
Faulty shock absorber fair enough, but the traffic officer's been examining crash scenes for years im sure and knows what he see's, its the drivers word of "only being over by 10" against a cop whos probably seen it all...

That was knew from the start, there is a list of issues, hence why the car had NO MOT and a vts/gti engine in it instead of a rallye one.
Investigating office of the crash scene has said they were travelling between 64 and 75mph... 50 mph my arse!
Sentence could be today or tomorrow.
Nathan still has to give his view on accounts.
First time I have ever seen his picture makes my blood boil it does!

"a bad habit of never, ever wearing a seat belt."
Fucking Hell Gav.
I don't want to be the one to bring this up but can everyone please remember to wear a seatbelt. Not wearing one is plain madness.
It's also another thing that'll go against Nathan - it's the driver's responsibility to make sure everyone is belted up

It's the drivers responsibility in most cases, but if the passenger is 14 or over it's the passengers responsibility. That said, it sounds like this kids story is being torn apart and it looks very likely he'll be done for dangerous driving regardless of that. It's a shame he can't take responsibility for his actions and the damage he's done, makes it more upsetting for those involved I feel.
I hope a satisfactory result is reached anyway and that justice is done.

I do think Gav would have worn a seatbelt, I was the same never wore my seatbelt when driving myself but if ever somebody else was driving I would buckle up...Like said Gav wasn't stupid... besides I don't think it would of made any difference whether he had it on or not... he took all of the impact..
sickening that Nathan is so full of bullshit! Especially when friends and family are present!!
I hope it gives him nightmares for the rest of his life, I know it would me!!
Cheers for keeping us updated Leeroy!!

I will have more info when his best mate rings me tonight.
I do have other pictures of how bad the damage actually was.
Never really wanted to post then on here as I dont think its right, correct me if am wrong i can post them but hey are rather shocking.
I have also watched a video of the car at the police compound, seat belt or not, he wouldnt have saved with the amount of damage caused

No point in posting the pictures Lee, it's not going to help anyone and it's a bit voyeuristic.
As you say, he probably was wearing a seat belt - he's not that daft surely.
Anyway - I don't see Nathan getting out of this. He'll go down for DbDD and it'll probably be a lengthy one for a lack of remorse.

They aint for public viewing to be honest. They show the extent of how bad the impact was, I dont think anyone wants to remember him by those pictures.
Least from the court room is that Nathan is digging himself a bigger and bigger hole!

The guy denies driving dangerously but he mentions driving over speed bumps before the car slid. Why the fuck would you be doing 70 over speed bumps?!

Didn't know the lad but sounds a really decent guy, its always the nice ones in these situations.
Its such a cruel world we live in!
Such a horrible thing to happen and read about. Noone deserves it.
Hope the driver gets the full punishment, hes taken a young guys life and now has to live the rest of his life remembering what hes done.
Surely that should make him realise how much of a dangerous driver he is. Who goes 60mph over speedbumbs?
Why can't he just admit to causing death by driving dangerously, when all the evidence is there!
I hope he never drives again.
Rest in peace Gav! X
