VTS Exhaust advice please
The car is a Mk2 VTS single plug ECU but a 2000 model (so only 1 lambda sensor - same as Mk1s I believe).
She's got a BMC CDA filter with cold air feed off the standard funnel input.
Magnex back box that I'm happy to keep and a magnex de-cat pipe however the mid box and manifold etc. I'm happy to ditch.
I'm trying to avoid a remap as trying to find somewhere who does it over here is not proving to be easy - although a trip back to the UK to sort it out is not impossible.
I would like a nice deep racey noise (my Impreza had a Scooby Sport de-CAT exhaust and made everyone look - and I would love the VTS to have the same effect). I live in the country with no neighbours so am not fussed about keeping it quiet nor legal especially as the MOT's lasts 2 years so only have to change it back to standard once every 24 months. Obviously an improvement in performance would be a plus
I want a system that doesn't involve moving oil filters or bending bits etc. so good quality fit and finish and willing to spend up to £300 for the bits (manifold and mid box or pipe to replace).
Is it worth ditching the mid box or does this give me back pressure issues etc. or is there a better system option.
Not fussed if it's new or 2nd hand (in case anyone's selling one).
Have read Piper, Raceland etc. are good as manifolds but with the possibility of removing the mid box or an upgrade are they still the best option.
Is it worth keeping the Magnex back box or should I go for a one make complete solution???
Thoughts and advice please from you experts

Buy a R/L manifold, not sure what would fit centre section would connect to the magnex b/b though, you may need to buy a full system and sell the b/b.
A Saxsport full system perhaps?
A R/L made a huge improvement to a 2000 engine'd 16v 106 Rallye i used to have! (2 prong head yo!)

dave do you still have the data from the raceland vs gmc shoot out.
Ive mentioned on here a few times about how you started the raceland revolution but the graphs went missing.

Thx guys - useful advice
Is this the raceland one you recommend (or is there another?) >>>
http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php...-saxo-16v.html
I've the magnex b/b and de-cat pipe so I guess the R/L manifold will link to the de-cat pipe?

They were on my old computer which broke and i couldn't recover the files.
The graph pics were on my photobucket account but for the life of me i cant remember the password or the password to the email address i'd used for it so had to open a new account.
Its common knowledge now that the GMC performs poorly compared to the R/L, my pal has a GMC lying about, i may do another back to back with a std manifold/GMC & R/L as i'm looking to buy a new manifold for my recently purchased Saxo VTS.

Thx
I presume its got a plug for the lambda sensor?
Is it difficult to fit re. "some giggery pokery is required" - lining up of flange bolts etc. as long as I don't have to move the oil filter etc. I'm sure I could manage.
What about the mid box - worth keeping or is there a pipe which I can get to bypass this or not worth the bother??

Hole for lambda, check.
No oil filter relocation, thats only for the VTR chaps aint it?
Personally i'd sell your current set up (or keep it for MOT) and buy a saxsport system.

Where's a good place to get a Saxsport system from?
Will it be within my £300 budget?
Don't know much about them to be honest.
Found this on ebay >>>
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCORPION-SAXSP...item35aed46aaa
But doesn't seem to come with the manifold - do they do their own or is it a Raceland jobbie I need?

I know your probably going R/L or saxsport but I have always thought piper was the sex. Had a full system on my VTS and was top notch, best quality system I have seen aswell.

Yes I thought about the Piper as well but new they're well above my budget for a full system and not often available 2nd hand.

Thanks for the info everyone
Looks like I'll start with the Raceland manifold and then see what she runs like with the de-cat and Magnex rear box and then maybe an upgrade to a Saxsport cat back system.
Unless I can find a complete Piper going cheap anywhere.

Jarp. Just a shame the quality control from raceland can sometimes need a little bit to be desired. But then once you get it on for the money it seems to have been outperforming more expensive set ups on a regular basis
