VTR inlet on a 1.1
Hi all im thinking of sticking this vtr inlet manifold on my 1.1 cause I have got it and it cost me nothing (friend robbed it) so I dont know wether to fit it or not. If I fitted it would I have any performance gains with it being a bigger throttle body and the vtr engine requires fuel/air so I would have thought my car would have some small performance gains. btw I have a mk2 1.1 silver top engine and been told that the vtr was a mk2 silver top engine so would it actually fit.

i was going to do it, but my 1.1 inlet has coolant running through it, the vtr's dont! just double check with your inlet first. also depends if its a SPI or MPI.

the cam has just been reprofiled, there are gains, wouldnt say there were massive gains though, and havent really done 0-60 but ive had it at shakey raceway doing 18 seconds in 1/4 mile. there are videos of modified vtr's doing 1/4 miles in 17 seconds. Once i get a standalone ECU and correctly mapped up as its badly over fueling it will be hitting 17's. maybe high 16's!
but being realistic the money and time ive spent doing it, the power wasnt worth it. People on here would definatly say its easier, and cheaper just to put a vtr/s lump in

fair enough, could put bike carbs on it! that would make some serious power out of a 1.1 if tuned up correctly! but then again its serious money bud.
