Default My S2 8v 106 Rallye twins

Been snooping around Sax-p a lot recently looking for decent track builds and some interesting builds.

Thought i would fire up a thread for my Rallyes. Started off with the indigo blue one which i bought after getting back from afghan, a friend phoned my up asking if i fancied another 106 as the current owner was a ford man. Took a look at the market and made what i thought was a fare offer.

The car wasn't as clean as my last rallye but i don't think there are many that are. Bonnet had rust all the way along the front edge, small amount around one door lock and the usual inner wing rust.

Morrettes

3inch pugsport-car came with 2inch but i wasn't sure which i liked better

Red rod drop links was very happy always wanted some, again local and cheap

Ended up with a cheap GTI to run around in for a while too

Stripping the blue one, lots and lots of rot the bumper brackets where almost totally gone

Engine out, ready to be rebuilt, painted and giving me loads of room to work in the bay.

stripping the interior so much crap that needs to be binned

That is as far as i have got with the indigo one just now, been distracted by my other cars but my plan is to make it MINT!

I knew i wanted to get rid of the GTI i was just looking for an excuse, this came when a white s2 8v popped up with a cage and being low mileage i wanted it, 68k. It had been of the road and 'restored' not a job to my standard but its not the worst. The guy then sold it to the boy i bought it off where it had just sat in a shed since 2010.

With the GTI sold i cracked on with the white one getting it ready for a MOT, it had no bulbs for some unknown reason and many connectors in the bay were not connected. The loom appears to be from another 106/saxo cause it has connectors for PS and light levellers when the car has no PS and manual lights.

I connected all the plugs u could swapping some to the right plugs, refitted all the vacuum lines and fitted my standard air box i had kicking around. Seems to run fine now think it needs a good run and clean out of the fuel tank fuel is no dout stale.

Things i hate bout the car.

-rear bumper cut outs
-rear lights
-bonnet lifters/crap job on the aero catches
-lack of door cards
-fake carbon roof ext

I managed to get some matte streamline interior panels so that is one problem sorted already.
