If you hadnt painted the reflective bit it would still pass the MOT. But because you have its not my thing. I prefer my black ones with the reflective part still reflective.

Nice guide mate, very easy to follow and helpful...
Although they look nice you have massively reduced the power of your lights, as the light is not reflected forwards... You shouldn't be able to see the light surround with the headlight on... my standard bulbs are brighter despite the fact this picture is taken when it is still fairly light... it is fair enough painting the insert, and although painting the surround may look cool it is potentially dangerous... as your headlights are weaker...
This is an old pic of my car, but the standard bulbs appear much brighter:
Although your guide for the inserts is very useful :Y:
Alex

p.s. I would leave you positive rep as i recognise the time and effort that you must have put into this guide, but it says i have to spread it around a bit first

good guide there mate. i think they look ace, but counrty driving at night will be a task! lol
bulbs can be taken out before removing the unit from the car by the way, bit safer. dont fancy putting my bulbs in the oven when they cost me £15 each!

Ye i done mine black and used a hair dryer to heat up the glue. And tbh it doesnt affect the brightness of the lights. Well not enough for me to notice.
Good guide.
