Default Space Shuttle Launches: HD vids (test your HD TV) + a few extras

Basically one of my topics at the moment is 'Space and Launch Vehicles', so we've been studying the NASA Shuttles in quite some detail...

anyway the moisture sensors in my pants go into overload when when the main engines suddenly kick in so i went hunting on the web and came across these:

From STS-116

Launch 480p - 60mb
Launch 720p - 141mb
Launch 1080i - 222mb

Now this beast is from STS-121

Launch 1080i - 1GB

Then some random but f**king fantastic vids from youtube:

Atlantis sts-115 launch to orbit

SRB cam including seperation

Cockpit cam for STS-113 @ 2:36 the SRB's seperate

Cockpit cam for STS-121

Launch from STS-65 (better view)

Columbia related stuff:

Excerpt from a Documentary (if anything watch this)

NASA take on things

Mate there are the most quality events ever held on this planet (except when I'm working out).

Maybe my geekiness got the better of me. but anyone with a slight interest in doing stupid speeds, experiencing crazy G's and frankly poor fuel consumption should find this stuff amazing.

I'd do just about anything just to experience space, the launch and reentry. The technical shizzle involved in getting a manned craft there and back is, so say the very least, phenomenal. This stuff was built on 70's technology as well.

Reentry on its own is mad a f**k. decelerating from 17,000mph down to 200mph for landing whilst at the same time subjecting a manned craft to temperatures of 1600C... crazy shiz.

I could blab on forever about this stuff.
