i know mate,
im sure dan could have more power if he wanted to. he could of just bought a slightly bigger turbo and run the same boost pressure. but his setup as it is will be pretty fucking epic for the road.
when yours is done, ill have to take you out in mine for some proper power

well, i can vouch for this comment Dan, ive been out in it tonight.... its just mental, when its rolling at about 60ish it puts my N/A set up to shame... pulling off is tricky for him as he`s very cautious about gearbox and it was his first drive.
Hes got 4 settings programmed. We stayed at 7psi tonight and that felt MORE than enough.... It just does not stop pulling.... I cant get my head around what 1 bar of boost would be like? Or even what colins car is like?
I hate to say it but the noise of boost is better than ITBs lol... just listening to the turbo spool up! and the fact you have full control of it, where as with mine its, noise noise all the time!
Anyway, must get some sleep!

haha after seeing the smile on dans face after his first drive at 7psi i knew he was pleased. 14psi will feel much MUCH faster becuase how the torque is delivered as boost increases.

Sounds like some awesome figures for an effectively standard engine (decamp and rod bolts) !!
Car must feel awesome to drive!

tufty, you have just backed up everything ive been saying for ages lol.. trying to convince people is hard. the only way is for them to have a taste themselves.
i know what you mean 7psi would be more than enough. i was trying to tell lea how quick mine was at just 8psi, so i tool him out and needless to say he's just how you are now lol..
boost sounds soo good. you got loads of things to listen too,, spool up, exhaust, turbo chatter etc etc..
i dont think a well spec'd throttle boddies car would see which way you went with a good boost setup.

sounds epic!! whats wheelspin like? your running stock drivetrain yeah?
and for the record your right, boost sounds way better then bodies, the exhaust note on boost is immense, and the spool up sounds equally as awesome

I cant really describe how mad it is compared to a standard vts! Literally can't thank colin enough, the workmanship is amazing and it hasn't really missed a beat since i got her back.
Only slight criticism of the whole build would be that the intercooler sits a touch low for my liking (although the car is lowered which is my fault and doesn't help lol)
I'm sure that can be easily sorted.
The pickup from 40,50,60 etc mph is insane, i'd recommend boost and atspeed to anyone!
Progress-wise, next things on the list are fit my team dynamics and new tyres which i'll probably get around to tomorrow.
then after that i'll be getting bigger brakes and then hopefully a BE upgrade (boost will be turned up then )
Sadly that will have to wait until after my holiday in august ££££
Blackie, yeah i'm running standard drivetrain, so far it seems to be coping alright, although i'm not the sort of driver who just whacks my foot straight to the floor haha, fingers crossed it will all be fine until i can sort the BE conversion out!

its set to 7psi atm, still getting used to it? im using a helix 6 paddle clutch (i think lol), its around what i expected, maybe even a bit more, just mad to think that i can make it faster with the push of a button !
i did go out in jasons car, its difficult to compare the two tbh, i think cars always feel much faster when youre the passenger and it seemed rapid when he took me out and the brakes were fucking mental lol.
I think i'd have to drive both cars and be driven in both to get a proper answer if that makes sense, i've always had a soft spot for screaming N/A engines though lol

In reply to wether this is quicker lol... it sure is. There is no questions asked. At the moment until 30mph ide say mine would be ahead, but that is only due to dans transmission and he cant put all the power down. Anything after 30 i would need 2 horses at the front pulling me along providing they are not scared by the noise.

there needs to be a "like" button on here lol
i know exactly what you mean. ive come form a very light tb'd car to a slightly heavier boosted car and there is no competition.
also tufty, it makes it even better to think hes only using half the boost its mapped for lol..
soooo, when you building this boosted 16v ?

dan - if i get time i will do an overlay on the dyno comparing 7psi to 14psi on your car.. so you can see what your missing out on
you have a spare box.. no excuses
remember keep a check on your nuts/bolts levels for first few weeks (manifold and exhaust nuts work their way loose during the early running as things heat up and flex etc)
re intercooler, that was highest it could sit with minor structural cutting of the chassis. if you like we can cut away some of the chassis which will enable us to get the boost pipes higher, and then lift the intercooler up an inch or so? perhaps make this a plan for a later date.

Haha, i have said this time and time again! I really dont understand where more power could come from and how it would feel lol.... We were on the motor way, he booted it in 3rd and to pull your head away from the seat there was quite a fair bit of resistance.
Ive got a few projects going atm
