thought id bump up this thread. lovely car mate. just wondering, how loud is your exhaust system with the manifold and standard induction kit. Im back to the standard iduction now and its seems really quiet. Dunno if its just me and it is still good. Give s a nice rumble though. Thinking of getting a manifold soon aswell
Keep up the good work mate. Look forward to meeting you at trax, ill text you when im there.

lees car makes a rather epic noise
the exhaust overpowers the inlet noise by quite a bit tbh
but lee has the higher cam ect so itll chane its noise and make it pop and bang like it does (quite a lot lol)

Do you use this as an everyday car? How do you find the R888's on the road?

sweet cheers for the bumping sam, thanks aswell dude, my exhaust aint that loud really i may just be used to hearing it though tbh, you'll get to hear it at trax though mate its got a very sweet note to it. obviously running standard airbox and standard filter it doesnt have its rawr that it would having an induction kit on but its not something im too fussed about car feels relatively responsive and picks up very well. yea thats awesome mate ill meet you at trax then.

as alex says aswell the s2 rallye cam makes alot of difference to exhaust note etc, and yea it does produce some very loud bangs aha.
the decat pipe and a manifold will give your car a very nice note i reckon used to like how my vtr used to sound with the same exhaust thats now on my rallye so i think you'll like it.

Did you experience any sudden loss of grip at any time? My saxo is being retired from a daily but would still use on odd occasion on both track and road. Would you say the R888 could be used on both safely?

As long as your suspension is up to the task it should be fine

only if there was patches of standing water mate but nothing major and tbh i never pushed it in the wet incase it did go very wrong but i survived at least two months with r888's on the road with no problems at all. youll be fine i reckon mate and yea id say that its safe for track and road use yea.
obviously taking both comments below into consideration aswell, iv got group n spec coilovers so they are upto the job and obviously as iv said dont push it in the wet.

UPDATE TIME...
Alright everyone.
Its been busy past few days, iv been working with willsy on the rallye, we stripped it out to more or less a bare shell on interior to start doing some relocation work so brought a battery box and motorsport washer bottle for light weight ness lols.
So we started off removing the battery and all related wiring from the battery as i was rewiring most of it and relocating some of it too to help run the new internal setup. After removing the battery discovered quiet alot of rust this will all be removed soon along with other rust patches in the bay though as im going to remove the engine and respray the bay.
Anyways after doing all this and re routing some wiring the engine bay looked like this alot tidier if you ask me.
After routing all the wiring and stuff through the car and getting the battery box and washer bottle fitted in the boot i ended up with this.
Happy days it all worked aswell so i started the rebuild of interior so nobody knew about the relocation but me, plus it made my bay look alot tidier just need to tidy up some wiring on the engine and wiring for headlights and stuff and its win win. After a few hours it was all back together and the boot looked like this
Very chuffed with the results didnt really achieve much from this but it will help my engine bay look better once iv started working on the engine.
Also had some other goodies for the rallye too, to help with tidying it up and making it look sweet that goes in the line of new decals to replace the missing part on the wing and a gti spoiler (thanks rossi for the present)
Just incase your not sure what part of the decal is missing this is the bit thats missing you'll see from looking at the decal above.
I also noticed the rallye made some nice bangs so pulled into a quiet industrial estate to see what the noise was and found this out aha.
IM SUCH A CHAV LOLS...

Enjoy anyways guys
more updates to come.

A job well done again mate
Weird how both our cars seem to be behaving 'normally' since relocating battery using decent cable and possibly a better earthing point than standard
