Well not a big update this one but we've spent a night freezing our asses off in the garage so I think we deserve a post for it. First off we went to see our favourite Wheelwhore and advice centre Jeff for the BBS rim socket and set up this photo 15" 16" 17" RS's all together.

Once that was done we headed back to our garage and after 120 bolts, a bit of heat and a good twatting we broke the wheels up into they're individual bits to start the redrilling. Polishing. Sand blasting painting and powder coating.

Check back soon. Moo

wow i'll be keeping my eye on this thread.

would it not be easier just to use hub adaptors rather than getting the wheels redrilled? would gain some extra width that way too.

what colour are they going to be?

yes that is a REALLY stupid question.

he isnt fitting 15's 16's and 17's to the car. he just took the oportunity to take a photo of all the sizes together as they were all in one place.

he's fitting the 15's to the saxo.

I was thinking about doing a grille like the one you made for my saxo, looks like a good job on it.

The BBS's returned over the christmas period redrilled to 4x108 and since the lancia delta they were originally off of had the same offset as a saxo they were ready to trial fit and do some measuring to see how deeeeeeeeeeper rim we can have on the back. Started off getting the car onto the ramp, got the wheels off the N/S and trial fitted them. Next we let the car down onto some tall stand to load up the suspension (and with a few wheels in the boot to stop it tipping off the ramp lol). heres the results and we think you'll agee, Uber, just Uber.....

Difficult to make out what your looking at here but basically your looking upward at the wheel and showing the clearance to the arch. This is the front and as you can see there pretty much a spot on fit and width.

This however is the rears and as you can see there's some clearance to be rammed with shiny shiny dish! Woooo So we using a straight edge (read massive pry bar) worked out we had the width of the prybar and Beanie's forefinger clearance which in european measurement is 1" meaning we will be getting 2.5" of juicy rim under the rear.

While this was going on this rocked up which we were very impressed with indeed.

But to be honest it's still the french hatches at heart for us....

Cheers for looking, check back soon.

Well we're back again on this one and i can safely say I had no idea at all that putting new wheels on a car could ever cost this much, take this long, or be this complicated but i'm so sure now they will be more than worth it all. This week more provisions arrived from the fatherland in the form of 2 brand new rear rims. Then a week after expected but more than worth the wait the rest of the wheels returned from powder coating. Anyway enough waffle heres the pics. 8)

Still got to get the front rims and the centre nuts polished, and some new centre caps to arrive but they are certainly coming together, and beginning to look like I really wanted them to!

Cheers for looking and we'll keep you posted.

Awesome wee thread mate, liking the grill idea and getting rid of the quads.
How much you spent on those wheels now? lol

Well we might have been a bit quiet on this one recently but it doesn't mean we haven't been busy. First thing we realised was we had enough parts to assemble the rear wheels so we headed to the garage and soon realised that polishing 120 rim bolts is truely a boring pain in the arse!! But it was deffinately worth it as the rest of the wheels looked so good. That done we (using clear bathroom sealant) assembled the rears and they look amazing.

As if by magic the following day the tyres arrived and so with suprising ease we were able to shod the 8x15 wheels with the 185/45/15 Nankang Ns2's

Suprisingly a fitting we didn't have a camera for showed us that these wheels on the back looked CRAP! So we decided to try them on the front and I think you'll agree it's where they belong!

The car obviously needs to be lowered a lot but with my birthday fast aproaching i've been busy dropping hints for some coilovers to anyone near enough to hear them really.

A big plus to all this means we're now sure the rear arches can confortably swallow 9"s without any modification 8) so the credit card came out and some 3"rims and some 195/45 nakangs to throw over them are now winging they're way to us.

Cheers for looking. Moo
