i dare say that the ecu will be unlocked as he is selling it as a conversion. and just use your 1.1 box. it will definately fit your car. my mates first car was a 106 with the same old style 1.1 engine as us and he stuck a rallye engine in

Emailed him and ecu is LOCKED so that would be another 50-60 quid to unlock it, when I've been offered vtr conversions with an unlocked ecu for around the 120 mark, would it be easier to. Get a vtr engine and cam it and do a bit of head work my self?

If you cam a VTR youll need to consider a remap or something like a Dastek. As I said, the rev limit in the VTR ecu is so low that most cams will have more grunt at an rpm range higher than that.

Ooo that's interesting how much you want for your ecu? Also could I raise the rev limit on a vtr engine? Or will it self destruct?

pretty sure you could raise the rev limit with a remap. but why go to the bother when you could just get a rallye!! sorry mate i'm just trying to talk you into it haha. why go through a ton of money when you can just start off with the better option. saxo rallye ftw

you need to have a look what loom you currently have. i had a w reg vtr which should have been a crossover but had a mk1 loom.
no one will be able to tell you exactly what you need without having a look

just the plug behind the headlight was enough for me. go for single plug stuff and it should be plug and play. your car is the exact same as mine. you'll be looking for blacktop 90bhp vtr engines or rallye like i said
