Default my slammed flatty gti

so i am finally making this progress thread. so here goes...

got the saxo back in 2006 after the mot ran out on my golf. the golf cost £200 so you can imagine what it looked like. bits used to fall off it when i was driving along haha.(i recently found this pic of the golf)

the saxo cost £2000 from my mums friend. so 1 lady owner from new on 36,000 miles. eventually i got my finger out so here is what i have done to it so far:

i got a debadge grill and smoked headlights for it

i got a set of wheels from a mate for nothing but the were 16s so didnt last long on the car. it was like a monster truck

i started to like the red and black look and when i seen these wheels with tyres brand new for £350 i decided i was having them

one day i decided i would give it a clean (doesnt happen very often)

then i got smoked jewels

de-wipered

t-cut the rear badges

now i decided it was time to get it lowered. i got some spax -60mm springs from ebay for £25. i had been saying i wanted the rear slammed so my mate put the springs on and dropped it 100mm for me. the arches were modified for clearance

on a wee trip to knockhill

took a few pics at work to compare how low mine was to some of the other guys saxo's

took a few pics with another 1.1

decided to paint the plastic around the boot lock to clean the back up

took a wee pic with my mates old vts

had the front end off to replace the landing bar etc after having a bump

when i had the bump i decided the 1.1 brakes were absolutely shit even though they were around 3000 miles old. upgraded the front to VT spec disks/pads/calipers. £20 from ebay

got myself a showcage on the cheap from a friend along with strut brace and gti pillar plastics

had the bonnet on for a while now. got it from saxolenny. got an espace splitter ages ago and decided to put it on

i now have a vt front bumper on (no pics just now as my fone isn't working properly)

and finally, 1.1 out

gti in

so the engine has induction kit, 4-2-1, nice polished rockers and a lightend flywheel. still using the 1.1 gearbox so only 115mph top speed. i have a sub and stereo and door speakers. wee stubby ariel. been thinking of blanking the ariel. seen something in a thread about a grommet from an ax? i got some black piller plastics from a gti my mate was breaking to keep the black and red theme going as its got black plastic door cards etc. and i got a strut brace off it aswell. i am wanting a black roof lining and red rallye carpet. i'm trying to acquire red recaro's from a friend. gti leathers would be nice in there aswell. the car needs some new panels. had a disaster last week as the car fell off my suicide jack and its caved the rear quarter panel next to the door in

Nice to a 16v flatty!!! Not so nice to see it doing a wheelie though lol. Next investment should be some coilovers to get the front down just as much i reckon.

I'm normally not a fan of these flat arches and especially when compared to that red vts up there ^^

But well done mate you've done really well. Please tell me a VT kit is in the pipe line?

i honestly couldnt raise it. it would kill me. i love it too much. next axle wont be so low. the 16v is amazing. got the 4 branch, lightened flywheel and 1.1 box. goes really well. got vt brakes on it. i forgot to mention that earlier. had them on for like a year. drums on the back. who needs back disks

cheers, i have never even noticed that. just a rallye carpet, my mates red recaros, black roof lining to go with my interior trim. maybe a pugsport. not really into load exhausts. i like the standard backbox better as its tucked up away from the speedbumps. could be doing with a backbox soon. i have blew the one on it apart and its quite loud. obviously other engine mods some day but it will do for now
