I've tried to connect 12v positive to pin 6 black plug and negative to pin 6 black plug and the clock goes on, but still need to know the other 2 pins to turn lights on...

In theory if I follow your colour code but change the bottom right LED of the rev gauge to red instead of blue. Would the 7rpm+8rpm show up in red?

Not really no, it'd be a colour contrast. You'd get a purple ish section.
Unless you put a divide somewhere in there from the other leds, it'd be blue through purple to red... it'd look differant.

Awh I see, didn't think of that. Probably will not bother to make a divider. still looks nice in blue.

My Saxo is a mark 1 and it seems people suggest putting in plasma dials instead.
I prefer this blue LED conversion. Is there any way to do this conversion on a mark 1?

Where do I get these leds from, as it appears that maplin no longer sell them? Wouldn't feel too confident about doing this myself so would any standard bodyshop fit these for me? It's the mileometer that I am most worried about messing up

On a MK1, im pretty sure you just pull and swap the bulbs in the display...
ALSO... USE EBAY!! It's been said 3million times what LEDS you need to buy off ebay... it's not rocket science.
