well since getting the car last month the splitter and pass front arch came off in the night of murdering the pheasant. So looks same sans those parts, also tyres on the steelies proper ditch finder wanlis.
Getting some original ax gti alloys for the car when I can find some to buy but in the mean time I have scoured the following to improve the handling instead of 60mm springs on oe shock bouncy crap ride stuff on now.
Bilstein B6 OE replacement (apparantly 10% uprated??) 40mm spax springs, VT* calipers I got from FAG ages ago with ds2500 pads. Rear end to be lowered to match aswell.
Thats all I got for you going to order me a standard ax gti exhaust system and back box soon, give it a service and redo the tappets. hispecs will be going on thr quiksilver just easier to do on that since its the one needing more long term work

well oe exhaust in process of being fitted. Next few weeks new suspension and brakes will be fitted along with the tappets being re-done, then it will be nice easy and safe winter motoring

thanks as you guys know I get bored easily and change cars alot lol but can honestly say with the ax gti I got now can't be happier with it, doing the job well whilst the quiksilver get properly sorted to how I want it to be for an every day driver.
I just hope it gets done sooner because then I can really get going ont he ax and have it turbo'd

yup considering the lad lee who made lexs adapter and downpipe made the original 1.1 turbo, if all goes well clearing a few odd and ends then the ax is defo being turbod again even if it taked a few months to do. I think I will aim for about 160bhp in a spec a bit lower than lexs.
Should be ok considering I got the adapter and downpipe already lol

your 1/2 way there then mate. im very impressed of how lex's has turned out. 185bhp with a s1 rallye box and plenty of torque will 100% upset a few cars...

lol lex is scared of his lol he needs a longe rbox really to help put the power down. He did say to me 1st gear is virtually non existent now!! still bloody good result tho for him.
Dunno what to expect from mine but hopefully it will be something silly like the old 1.1
