Few issues at the minute, rear is rubbing - tyre on the inner lip on the rear arches when cornering 'quickly'. Strangely only on the NSR... Lads at ABP are just as baffled as me, only thing I can think of is the tyre pressures and the strong sidewalls of the R888's not wanting to flex...
Just awaiting costings for my rear arches to be rolled... Needs to be sorted before its next track outing on 27th September. And to top it off, my car insurance as rocketed! Damn inflation grrr! Lol.
Booked in at Eightspeed for Buddyclub roll centre adjusters on 24th September, will get rid of the bump steer its got at the moment. Once the arches are rolled and its been to Stevie, need to save some coin instead of blowing it on this!
Few pictures before its major detail over the weekend in time for Trax
Damage to one tyre:
Any comments?
Dan

Nah not on the Sax-P stand this year, going with a few mates from a manchester car forum.
Cheers fella
Cheers dude! Aye they have, not as comfy as the Eibachs but the rear is solid now, no roll whatsover and does slide out abit under harsh cornering. Off to ABP again tomoz to sort the plastics not being secured properly and to collect the lca removal key they accidently pocketed!
Yeah will have a look in good time. TBH in no rush at the moment as my car insurance has rocketed, need a new bed and a new laptop so the car will have to take second priority for a few months.
Keep looking at Exiges and instead of spending on these could be rolling around in one of them for next year... :/

Are you aware how much exige s's are?
and they aren't going to be that much of a step up from a civic or an integra to be honest..

ok so lotus exige "S" vs civic type r and the Lotus would come out on top?
Maybe if an inexperienced driver was in the Lotus but trust me i have chased these hard on many a track day only to be out done BIG time were I have experienced civic r on the same day and been either level or in front of, so how can a lotus NOT our perform a civic r?
Really the civic must be fitted with B8`s

On paper yes in the real world not so much. They do an 8:25 round the ring and thats with a lot of testing and a pro driver. I've seen a standard clio 200 do a full lap in 8:18 on R888's
I'd recommend modding the integra over spending that much on a new car..

Reference tire- they are very strong and do not worry about them I would take a picture of mine for comparison but I get rubbing in a similar location (admittedly on a 106) but still tyres are very strong and you won't have any issues let the tire find its own groove and sort the arch our for you, it wont hurt anything drastically!

You can't even compare an exige with a type r - it'd be no contest for the exige, full stop

Wasn't saying standard would.
Look back at the youtube vid on page 5. Thats a bloody good performing type r and that only has 230bhp.
£25,000 could buy you a kia sedona and some shiny mods that would piss on a an exige s lol
and for peter_d

Knockhill Honda DC5 vs Exige S vs VX220 - YouTube
|
Well hardcore_b8 i watched the vid and from what i can gather...
The DC5 owner knows the track very well and is giving it death
The VX220 is also giving it death
The Exige is being conservative on the corners but on the straights it annhialates both...watch at 6 minutes into it, the Exige pull away so much harder
Stick the driver of the DC5 in the Exige and the Exige would be gone from the word go

all in all. The CTR is lovely, and exige S would be a big step up. Hardcore_B8 stop telling people there next car is not going to be a step up.

Ill watch that vid when i get home
The Exige has so much more appeal, plus modding the DC5 itd be throwing money away that i wont get back.. Buying an Exige will give me a foot in the car market so to speak, i spend say 23k on one, then i keep saving money and when it comes to sell ill have enough for a 30k car, and so on! Buying an Exige would put me realistically alot closer to buying something like a Ferrari 360 after that, spending thousands on the Teg will just put me a step backwards
Plus the Exige wouldnt be staying standard id be aiming for a good 250bhp or even more, i think with 270bhp the Exige would be an absolute rocket

Well i say why spend 20 odd grand on a car that laps the ring all of 20 seconds quicker than a car that costs £5000 that also has nothing at all in it and can only sit 2 people in it. Hell doing the same thing to the civic would probably make it as fast.
I get the whole argument with the step up thing but an exige WILL depreciate the same as any other car on the market. Spend 23 grand say 5 years later worth 10 grand so a loss of 13 grand. Buy a civic for 5 and it'll depreciate a little bit sure but you won't lose 23 grand.
For 23 grand i'd buy a clio 200 and an RS Twingo or even buy a megane trophy which will piss on the exige lol
