Got it on disk and my key written down, may install it later.
Any links to any decent reviews by any chance?
Had a look at some screenshots, based on vista, does it run better?

Just a heads up. I've read that it's a beta (obviously) but don't install it on your main pc that you use for work or rely on. Due to it being a testing program it can read through what programs are legal on your machine and what aren't. I.e you paid for. Adaptation of Vista updating software check that you paid for the previous version of vista. Unless you have cracked version or what not.
What I've read into on review sites. So just be careful as well as it being a beta that you might have random game crashes and driver gcard crashes too.
I'm not 100% with it as I haven't tried it. I'm the messenger and going off what I've heard/read.
I want to download and try it out but don't have a spare machine I'm willing to part with as I don't want to go through reinstalling XP and things again.
Also anyone who has already installed it and tried it out, can you tell me are there any limitations of the beta? I.e can only access some amount of settings or customise it so much etc.

Installed it on a VM & not overly impressed with it tbh. Still a bit too vista-like. I seriously hate the vista nested 'all programs' menu.
Will give it another look later but i was putting all my eggs into this m$ basket. Think ill stick to XP on my main PC and run wild with OSX as my main OS.

Nothing worth swapping too.

I agree releasing windows 7 this soon, makes me that that microsoft failed to meet there objective for vista and are now trying to recover as soon as possible.
Me my self will not be downloading the beta as i cant be bothered messing around with it. Will wait till its released then cry when none of my drivers and games work correctly.

im glad they are already replacing vista tbh i hate it, im sure its fine for people who just want to check a few e-mails etc but anything else and i find it horrible to use. just hope they have done a better job, i shall just wait until companies are loading windows 7 as standard or atleast a option over vista and then ill buy new PC (yes i know buidlign is better but i cba to do it lol)

im downloading it as we speak, will give my thoughts when i install it. Only have games on my system, as everything is on a storage drive i need, so shouldnt take me long hopefully!
As for Vista, im running Ultimate x64 and have never had a problem with it, for gaming or anything else....

Got it up and running, runs nice and fast, but a few problems here and there.
Setting system page file, go to the tab and it crashes my machine. Leave it half hour and still hasnt freed up. Some hard drive activity reading errors, copying files take forever, turns out they have copied but the dialog box hasnt cleared itself. Only few things so far, have been sending feedback too.
If they can iron out the bugs i would definitely get this. Much much nicer than XP and a damn site better and faster than Vista!

Its just Vista-2 basically. Same interface but with added features. Being beta it will run smooth but when its fully released and stamped with all Microsofts Corporate products it will flop just as Vista did. Personally id wait til they bring out its first service pack as this should fix the first lot of bugs encountered from users when officially unleashed to the mass public.
