Exhaust options for the Furio
Hey all, just wondering what the best sounding exhausts are for the furio's and if they offer much benefit performance wise? (I presume not but its sound I'm after)
My intention is to get it to POP as loud as possible, which route would I have to take to achieve this?

Cheap option:
Smash out the cat
Cut out all silencers and clamp/weld pipe in
Cheap universal backbox off ebay
Grind the mount off the old backbox and just sit the universal backbox inside the U shape
or you could install a spark plug to the exhaust

would the spark plug method make it pop? with cat and standard exhaust? or would it just destroy the cat first?

Not standard no, Not 100% sure on exhaust setup if someone could advise? on my mk1 i have the cat chopped out and a universal backbox with the middle box still present and it does pop on the overrun sometimes. would be better without the middle box i would imagine.
I did have a furio but some muppet put a mk1 exhaust on it

I think I will go down that route then, Decat (not chop it out as I want it for the MOT) straight through centre, a nice back box and see how that works, worse comes to worse a 421 and a spark plug

i have a scorpion backbox on my furio and honestly is the best noise ive heard from a 8v saxo. along with egay's finest 4-2-1. spits the odd flame and pops and barbles on deceleration

there is a differance between a loud exhaust and a good sounding exhaust in my opinion, i have a 4/2/1 on my VTR and a supersprint. this sounds really good! its pretty much as i like, it doesnt pop much and is a nice baffled sound. i have a Piper back box to, with this box it is much louder and really raspy!! but below 3k just sounds like its blowing and drones on the overrun.
the 1.4s tend to pop and bang more, more un-burned fuel goes through on the over run, not that sure why but they do

Likewise, With my old 106 I had a Sportex Twin Exhaust on, was never even but sounded very nice
see video
This was just a different backbox and it popped on demand and was only a 1.1
Hoping it isnt to hard to acheive the same with the Furio! I dont want the LOUD sounds, I want the Deep sounds

I have a raceland 421 and a full supersprint straight though and above 4k I don't think I enjoy any sound more!
