Ouch! Sorry to hear that.
I'm sure a G Reg Golf has no real value to lose, drill a 11mm hole in the centre of the impact zone, tap out to a 12mm thread and spin a tow eye into it. Wrap a rope around a pole and through the tow eye, slowly pull away pulling the crease out. Its not a professionals way, but I've seen bodyshops do this and work for jobs doing on the cheap.

Gutted for you mate
I'd just notify your insurers of an incident and let them get the liability from the third party so you shouldn't be penalised too much - as Dom says there's not much value in a G reg Golf so you'd be lucky to get any more than a couple of hundred quid tbh
Any idea whether you're going to try and fix her or is it really game over?

End of an era.
Bodyshop are picking it up tomorrow which will probably be the last time I see it.
Tomorrow will comprise of removing the Teddies, raising the coils abit and removing the audio.
Quick question. The steels that I'm putting on have illegal tyres. Can the insurance company refuse to pay out if they pick up on this at the time of inspection?

Technically whatever you send the car to the body shop as has to be the same as the time of the incident. If you put bald tyres on then the car had bald tyres at the time of the accident so puts a lot of shit on you.
They can also ask for the wheels that were on in the accident as they effect the value of the car at the time of the accident. Had a lot of dealings with stuff like this mate.
Its up to you but depending if the other party took pics will all depend if you get in the shit or not. Worse case the insurance can do you for fraud as you surrendered a car that was altered after the incident.
My advice to you would be to let them write it off then buy it back I know for a fact I can fix that for buttons.

no.
i was hit on a roundabout and was advised not to try and rub the scratch off as that is technically tampering with the area. same with removing things before the inspection. it can be them thinking youre trying to hide something mechanical so could get you in loads off shit

Cheers for that. Only two of the tyres are illegal so i'll nip out and get two part worns before I put them on the car.
