i know my smoked back lights are really dark and i was advised to change them for standard lights to pass an mot and then change them back. Dont know if that helps lol.

Also for fronts im pretty sure tinted front lights arent legal for one reason or another.

Simple answer yes
But as above its easy to change the rear quickly so yeah if you have standards them wack them on for the mot. But im sure they will pass if light still comes through I got stopped about mine because one was brighter than the other, turns out it was the bulb in the wrong way, copper didnt say anything about them being illegal or even mention that the light could be brighter because the tint ect
Headlights if you mean simply smoked like in my sig then yes it will pass

yes it can be done to a mk1 heres mine

there is a guide, you put them in the overn split them, spray the insert blck and then put back together

its only legal as long as you spray the right parts

as for rear lights its down to how much spray you put on obviosuly, a light cover of tint wont fail as the light shines through, but, put a whole can on then it'll probably fail, its not a clear cut thing its down to how you've done it
