thanks chaps
just fitted my smoked fogs. will get some pics up soon. think that's the exterior finished now. will be getting lower profile tyres though when they need replacing
all i really want now is the supersprint manifold. they're hard to come by though and silly money brand new. so will just have to keep an eye out
maybe upgrade the brakes to 266mm aswell when the pads need replacing. along with braided hoses
then start saving for a vts conversion!

the ride height looks spot on so im going to get my vtr lowered 50mm, is the back also lowered 50mm? Also did you have to have the PAS pipe adjusting?

hi mate just seen your post. thanks, not sure how much the rear is lowered by exactly. just adjusted the height till it looked right with trial and error. would guess it's maybe slightly more as it was probably a bit higher at the back as standard. whereas now it's pretty much level, with even gaps between tyre and arch on both the front and back. so maybe 50 front, 55 rear?
yeah had to bend the pas pipe which was easy enough. was a few days gap before i did it and the material pipe coating had already rubbed through! metal piperwork undamaged though so didn't cause any problems
cheers, chris

nice one dejot. a fine choice! really want 16v power in mine now
yeah the exhaust sounds crazy. so loud with plenty of pops. people stop and look round to see what's coming. too bloody funny lol
still needs a bit of tweaking til i'm completely happy with it. the manifold came in two parts which are currently clamped together. gonna get it welded though for a solid airtight seal. gonna get all new manifold studs aswell as the current ones are slightly corroded. don't want them to be a nightmare when the time comes to refit the original mani. also my top green lambda sensor is seized into the original mani so need a new one of them to get rid of this engine management light. new midesection fire gasket aswell, again just to ensure there's no blowing. think that's about it!
matt black superTs sound like a winner. yeah best getting some locknuts in case someone decides they like them too! lol
cheers, chris

You're running without the green lambda? Makes the car overfuel like hell mate - aly051 had this problem as we extended the wires of his green lambda with the wrong grade of wire. Was overfueling to the point of popping flames!
New lambda can be had from Eurocarparts for £40 - £50 iirc. Might be easier buying a new one if the original won't come out with heat and hammering the end of a 22mm spanner.

lol flames sound good to me! but yeah needs sorting really. don't want to be wasting fuel.
will have another go at removing it from the old mani and if no joy i'll have to get a new one. feels like a waste of £40 though :/
cheers, chris

Get a blowtorch onto it, 22mm spanner and smack the opposite end of spanner with a hammer mate. If it won't budge, try some penetrating oil too. They are a bit awkward as the manifold is 'raised' around the lambda - hard to get a good grip with a spanner I found.
Definitely want that green lambda in the new manifold though. You can leave the blue (second) sensor disconnected if you can live with the light being on. Otherwise sleeve it and the EML should go off after a few drives!

ok will try that mate. already tried wd40 but it didn't seem to make any difference. heat should be more effective though.
blue lambda came out fine so once i've sorted the green one i'll sleeve it then everything's sorted! don't want the light on all the time. then at least i know if something is actually wrong!
cheers, chris
