The Fiesta is a little bit more special than the GTR though. When you take into consideration parts, labour etc... It's probably worth well over £40,000!

Rubbish, that gtr would see it off all over the place and you'd look better in it aswell rather than a gaudy looking fiesta. Not to mention fiesta is built in Bobs dusty workshop outside Tamworth and the gtr is built in a hermetically sealed environment.
I do like the fezzer though just not for 40k, no way.

I'd rather the Fiesta over a GTR any day.
Dyno proven at 556 @7500,533ft @4000rpm for the fiesta
543bhp @ 6400rpm, 465lb ft @ 3200-5800rpm for the GTR
So the fiesta is technically more powerful, and no doubt will be lighter too.
I cant see there being much difference in acceleration though, They're both horrendously quick and theres no need for either of them on the UK roads. You'll never be able to use them to the full potential, ever. Unless your name is Michael anyway.
Would much prefer something like this for fun and have a boring daily driver

you'd have to be a little bit special to spend 40k on a fiesta. I know which car I'd rather be in.

I agree, I could see myself having much more fun in the fiesta. At the end of the day you wouldn't in your wildest dreams expect a fiesta to move like that one does. I bet it sounds awesome too. 40K for something which has had so much work put into it, with so much power and so neatly done, isnt a bad deal at all.

If I had 40k to completely waste on not worry about, I would roll in that Fiesta.

See the Fiesta reminded me of Mike Manning's car...
It's be good to see them go head to head on a hillclimb.
