Default Paintwork mop

So my mate has offered to mop my car fully for £20 or the price of polish etc as he has the buffer pads and everything to do it. Gonna have him do it anyway but just wondering will it restore the paint to a near new finish?

No not for £20 I can't even buy enough polish to do a car for that.

It will give it more of a shine if he cuts it first then polish's it and waxes it, then it will remove the light scratches and brings the paint to a shine from where he used a cutting compound.

I wouldn't trust it mate, heard of so many people going wrong with electric polishes, my mate burnt his paintwork stupidly. It hard work, but doing it by hand is best in my opinion. Just buy a good polish, shampoo and wax. Use the two bucket method and but a sheep skin mitt.

Also a snow foam lance can be useful, I struggle to get the 'wet look' with my car and I think most people with silver saxo's do, but it can be achievable.

Machine polishing is obviously best if you no what your doing and have all the right products. For the average joe like myself then hand polishing is less risky as a pose to machine polishing

I take it this is after claying the car then washing again ?

What's wrong with using a DA ? The guy who burnt his paint must've left the pad in the same place for a while like...

If you want it done, get it done properly. Local kids will charge about a 1na because they often don't know what they're doing. Professionals charge what they do for a reason.

Last thing you want is your mate 'moping' it. Unless of course your mate actually knows what he is doing. If your mates previous work is good enough for your needs let him do it.

When people use the word mop' although I know what it relates to and before all the yardi dah shit came along it was called it, I think that word belongs in the past. It's not a quick process and a lot more goes in to it than just whacking some polish on to a pad.

£20 would likely not cover the costs of the products used, let alone his time.

A friend of mine does it for £100 which is a full detail of the exterior including a machine polish but it takes 6-7 hours so its just extra money on top of his actual job.
