Amazing project mate. Very impressive.

What about the adapting the 106 maxi body kit? Shouldn't take too much work to make it fit as it's the same shell and it would give you plenty of room in the rear arches.

That should stiffen things up nicely! Are you welding a bulkhead into the B pillar hoop or tubes and panelling?

I love this project. I looked at the Z cars kit a few years ago but couldn't justify the cost of it and don't have your talent for designing it myself!

Keep up the good work.

Hi and thank you for your comment.!

I am having a firewall which will go either side of the tube's (i think )

on a serious note this has cost very little to build so far it really has cost a shocking amount lol.

thanks for your kind words and im just hoping to get a few more sponsors behind it to make this a total animal!

I wouldn’t think you’d need to double skin the bulkhead. A single skin of the right grade would make that hoop virtually rigid and fulfil firewall duties as well. The only reason for double skinning that I can see would be aesthetic!!

Or all over the road like the old mk1 clio v6.

Great to see someone doing something different though, a very interesting project, as mentioned though I personally would not be having a main roll hoop welded together like that but hey ho.

Point taken. Though a diaphragm type bulkhead would be strong in tension to resist chassis loads, diagonal tube bracing with the firewall attached to it would give better roll protection as I'm sure the builder is fully aware.

Which is why he's building it and not me so I'll shut up and go get some much needed sleep!!
