Default Iphone 3 HELP, need nerds

Right on orange, and my iphone 3, will no longer get signal, put my sim card in any other phone and its spot on.. Just my iphone is saying no service... I have tried restoring it and still did nothing, Orange say it the phone, apple want £173 to replace it as they dont think its the phone, im unsure where to look for to help resolve the problem!!

Any info would be great, i would it be worth sending it to envriophone and just getting a new one, contract ends soon however the phone is one 2 months old as i broke my last one!!

cheers

Is it a 3 or a 3Gs? As I'm pretty sure Apple stopped supporting the 3 with the release of ios5 and the iPhone 4steve.

They wouldnt just turn the network off to it, they are just not updating anything for the 3.. If the phone is only 2 months old, it should still be under warranty to fix it free.. Far as im aware, the only thing they charge to fix when its under warranty is the battery

It only two months old due to getting a new one from insurance, they will not repair it. They saying i have to go back through the insurance. Which is now £100 excess on it.. One day it just stopped getting a signal. Piss take. I am going to try airplane mode now but tried it the other day got a signal for about a minute then stopped again

Hold down power button for 5 secs and whilst holding that press the home key and continue to hold them until the phone goes blank. That's a hard reset and that should bring back the signal.

General: Network: Disable 3G. Then reset your iPhone.

Go to Settings:General:Reset.

Click Reset Network Settings

Enter your passcode if you have created one.

Click the red button: Reset Network Settings

The iPhone will take a minute to shut down, then it will reboot.

Hopefully, service comes back.

Sounds exactly like a second hand one I bought that was IMEI blacklisted... Although if yours came from Apple, then it shouldn't be that
