Server Outage - moderate disruption TONIGHT. Offline again at 00:45
As announced approx. a week ago, the Saxperience Server will receive a serious upgrade. THis is now scheduled to take place this evening!
This will cause some degree of site outage, which if we have our plans laid out correctly, should be limited to only 30 minutes or so.
In advance of the main outage, I need to close the community for approx. 15 minutes, whilst some essential backups are performed. This will take place at 22:45 tonight!
Once the new server is online and the server address is changed, we will effectively have two servers running. You will be directed to the old or new server, based upon how qwuickly your internet service provider updates there DNS servers. This can take from 2 minutes upto 3 days.
To protect you from this downtime, we have a few tricks up our sleeve, which will allow members to login and browse both servers, whilst collecting all forum posts, etc on the new server.
There may be some small issues with photos uploaded to the E-Garage, but these can be easily corrected.
Apologies for the disruption, but it is essential that we get the new server fully up and running before tomorrow
Thanks,
Simo

Online testing now underway. We should soon be switching servers, if all checks out ok.

Ok peeps, testing has gne well.
Next phase is shutting this server down again, transferring ALL updated content to new server, then reset old server to talk to new server.
I have a few things I need to do at the same time, so downtime will be 30 - 60 minutes... starting at 12:45.
Hope to see you on the other side!?!
If successful, we will later re-name server addresses and formally begin the transfer to solely operaing from the new server.
