another engine conversion thread
i have a 2001 saxo vtr, and can get a 106 gti engine and everything i need of a 1998 plate... just wondering if it would be good for a engine change??

swap the engine loom for a saxo vts one and you'll be fine.
use the search function and you'll read many threads about the conversion

swap the loom for a vts 1... my ecu on the vtr at the mo. is a 3pin and the engine i can get has a single pin?? if i get a loom for a vts single pin ecu i should be fine??

no you will need to modify more of the loom if switching 3pin/single pin.

read the guide in the sticky here
you need a 3pin gti engine for a 3 pin loom or you will have to change the cars entire wiring loom

you dont need a 3 plug engine. you just need the loom adn ecu. engien can accept any loom.
